For at least 2 months now Ive been on the verge of cracking A ranking but its always something that ruins it, weather its other people crashing into me or I just lose points for whatever reason when racing, its so damn frustrating because Ill get 1mm away from cracking A rank and I gotta do another weeks work just to get it back up when a race or two does not go my way, its really really harsh.

I would class myself as a DR:B driver, but I am DR:A, I made the leap into DR:A during Gr.3 Nurburg 24hr, I also had the benefit that there were lots of slow people with DR:A who had gained it artificially through using the then OP megane.

When you get to the top of a DR:B band, you have the most to lose unless you are matched against DR:A and DR:S guys.
Once you get into DR:A you will hopefully just be matched against higher DR:A guys and DR:S guys, so climbing in DR:A is easy initially.

Careful what you wish for. I keep swinging up and down past the DR.A barrier. Last night I started at the peak again from doing well on Monza. Which put me in pretty much last place in rooms full of DR.S and DR.A, couldn't keep up, just pass wrecks and let people pass again, not a very enjoyable experience. My DR went down and at the end of the night I qualified a bit higher, 12th and found one car I could keep up with before wiping out lol.

The way to get into A, find a track car combo you're good at. Set a good qualifying time and do the race over and over.

I'm trying to get there

Also recently moved up to A after comfortably being in b for a while.I now have to practice a lot more than I race.SVEN JURGENS is absolutely right regarding car/ track/qualifying. Finding that extra couple of tenths very important.

Hate to sound like a noob (which I am lol), but where did you get that screen grab from with your GTS stats?

I'm waiting for the perfect daily to finally get that coveted S rank...

For me the difficulty is more on finding the daily you 1: are comfortable in, 2: will know is not a crash fest, and 3: have enough time to practice it. It's been a slow and steady climb, and the past week I was stuck at 45-47k, but I might just finally break it this week :)

You don't have to race everyday. If there aren't any dailies that you like, practice in a lobby or time trial. Gr.3 and Gr.4 on the popular tracks seem like the bread and butter for dailies and the FIA races.

To really lift your ratings, pick 1 track and find the best Gr. 3 and Gr. 4 car for that track. Generally speaking you'll find more of those races at the real tracks that have 1 main layout (Suzuka full, Interlagos, Brands GP, Nurb GP & Panorama.) Before you enter a race, get a really good qualifying lap (do at least 10 laps.) At the high B to low A level, it's more important to avoid mistakes than to take chances. A lot of drivers get nervous when someone is close behind, so instead of forcing a pass, stay close for a lap or so and wait for the mistake.

When your car/track combo comes up, play it as much as possible! Those are the days that you Do Not design liveries, take photos, campaign races, etc.

I'm in the same boat.
Hovering around 46-47k, I was over 50k at one point but then I started driving more tracks (even ones I'm not great at) and have found a home around 46k(ish).
If I focus on tracks I'm good at (Dragon Trail, Monza, Bathurst and Maggiorre) then I can rank up. Problem is that Monza, Bathurst and to a lesser extent Dragon Trail can go very very bad with crashes or mistakes - so gaining DR isn't very easy.

Also, like 2 weeks ago I lost a HUGE amount of DR in one race at Blue Moon Bay II, not because I was crashed out, but because I ran out of fuel (yeah I know) and like 14 DR. B drivers finished ahead of me.

So I'm hoping with a little more time and practice I can crack that DR. S barrier.

Same, most of my preferred tracks (I have the same taste on track selection based on what you said) are crash fests, so it's really hard to get DR. Whenever Suzuka comes out I spam the hell out of it because it's the only race I can win with no crashfests

I'm pretty sure we all ran out of fuel at one point  I never really got the hang of pit strategies until I was halfway through A. I'm trying to learn more tracks so I can race competitively on them, and hopefully no more days of wait for DR grinds :D

Twice in DR A now. Gotta get better.

Not knowing the pits at brands hatch and not knowing about pitting in fia really brought my DR down hugely.

Gotta be careful now.

I've been progressing nicely with my sub account, just wish I had more game time to exploit this current situation.. I'm thinking there are low DR:A guys that have dipped in to DR:B so more high DR:B guys to take points from and get the leap needed to get in to DR:A

Got into A last week, but don't expect to maintain it. I reckon I'm a high B driver, but will probably end up going up and down trading places with similar players

With bathurst up for 2 days and nurb 24hr before that I jumped way up to DrA 35000ish after hovering around 28-29000 for a fair while. A track you know and like and a car you are comfortable in make all the difference
