Apple iMessage Down

Whenever I try to use iMessage it only goes through as text message. It seems to be having lots of problems here lately with multiple people, mine hasn't worked perfectly for a week now. Anyone else have this problem or know of a solution?

Do you have a 3G/WiFi connection? I remember that used to be the problem with my iPhone. iMessage needs an internet connection, so if you don't have data, it won't work unless you're on WiFi.
