^What? You said the iPod Mini was $250 in one sentence and then you said it was $60 in the next. I think it would be neat to have an iPod, even though I don't listen to much music.

Oops, I meant that's the iPod Mini is only $60 more than the iPod Shuffle that was 1GB. The iPod Mini has 4GB.

Vendors drop prices of their products all the time. I don't see how Apple dropping the price of their Ipods makes them 'too smart for consumers'...

I think that they're very clever. By reducing the marginal cost of the higher-spec model, they are able to encourage you to buy that version instead.

I myself pondered this when I bought my iPod. I could get the 20GB one for £229, or the 40GB one for £279. But the 40GB one came with the dock (£30) free. I wanted the dock. So the 20GB + Dock was £259. Or the 40GB (inc Dock) was £279. That meant that the extra space was £1 per GB.

It was a no-brainer to me. I have the 40GB one.

That's what I'm saying, wouldn't you rather get the iPod Mini than the 1GB Shuffle, because your only paying $60 more for 3GB more than the iPod Shuffle.
