Hi @ll

First, i hope you will understand my english, cause I'm from Germany. :D

OK, 3 weeks ago i started drifting, tried some cars (240SX, the FC Silvia). Now I'm driving the RX-7 RZ with 300 HP and sims.
The settings are those from drifterzzz.

I handle the RZ better than the others.

My first track was Midfield than i changed to ApricotHill which was for me easier to drift. (to practice drifting)....

Now, sometimes i make some good drifts, but is very rare.
(I think my Drift Style is Power Over)

I think my Problem is, I really don't now when I must start the Drift. I mean Position and speed.

I've seen the vid with the red lanevo. But it don't really helped me.

Maybe somone have a good practice video for me.
....or could make one.... :D :D :D

Or are my settings on the car wrong??
I think drifterzzz make them for the RZ with all tuning parts.

I hope you guys can help me.

MfG Ray

yeah practice makes perfect.. but as for entrance it depends.. i like to turn in when the front of my car is at a 20 degree angle from the apex of the corner

Go into a corner as you would with grip racing, with one exception. Instead of breaking before turning, do this: Start the turn, break, downshift, gas, countersteer with the rear-end slide.

I don't know about anyone else, but that is how I drift. You can check my sig and take a look at my vid, and see how it looks. I have some footage of Apricot Hill in there....but the car's settings sucked.

I highly recommend Deep Forest 1 to learn drifting. Hairpin, a multiple-corner series, two long corners, and a few small ones.......easy to drift. It's my home course, and the series of corners after the #1 hairpin is what I use to practice linking corners....very effective training.

Hope this helps!!!! Welcome to GTPlanet!!!!

The powerslide requires that you enter the corner at a speed that will allow you to peel out the car without driving the car into the wall, or spinning it out. I personally think that it is relatively difficult to use this technique with consistency.

As general advice i would suggest checking out drifting for dummies... it has a great amount of information, and even a video that explains a couple different drifting styles.

I think that Apricot hill is a great place to learn how to drift due to its great variety of turns and its changes in elevation, as well as the great first double apexer...

Using sims... initiating drift should occur with little problem. I would also suggest xsyorra method of approaching the corner using trail braking. This will initiate the drift, and the gas will prolong it if it is feathered in a way that allows you to control your throttle.

Well i hope this helps, and welcome to gtp...
