I've thought about Apricot Hill, and to me, it seems that Apricot Hill isn't needed in GT5 because they have Suzuka.

If you think about it, Apricot Hill has very similar corners to Suzuka, except Apricot Hill is mirrored; Apricot's first turn, for example, gets sharper as you go along, like Suzuka. This is followed by gradual elevating S-bends, like Suzuka; followed by a long bend. Suzuka has some extra corners here but eventually end in a hairpin, like Apricot Hill. Near the end of both tracks, there is a chicane followed by wide turns that lead back to the main straight.

Has anyone else noticed this?
Does anyone not care and want Apricot Hill in GT5 anyway?
What other original GT tracks do you think are based off real-world circuits?

I have never seen similarities between the two.

I do wish It was in GT5.

i've thought about this and felt that midfield too has suzuka style parts the crossover and the first corner and esses.....

You have a point, the first sector is the most obvious.
One may argue that the main difference between the 2 is that Suzuka has a figure of 8.

now you say so....in a way yes its similar. But still Apricot has its own charms, its also much wider.

I don't really see a resemblance. Regardless, GT4 had both Apricot Hill and Suzuka.

Not at all.
Apricot Hill favors speed, Suzuka favors handling.

I can't say just because of gradual or sloping corners on etc, etc, they're the same at all, because one is a high-speed track and one is more of a cornering track.

The turns have similarities though, I'll give you that.

Edit: I loved Apricot Hill, never got along with Suzuka though.

Ahh I miss Apricot Hill, far and away my favorite track. :D I do agree about the similarities a little, but for me that's all they are, a bit of a coincidence in my opinion. Hopefully some of the original tracks make their way back to us at some point.

Did not see any significant similarities. Hated the track anyways, would rather have Midfield Raceway instead.
Are you reading this PD? Please!? Midfield? Non?
