I've owned two copies (as in original copies, not pirate), and I've noticed differences between the two versions of the game, the later version of the game that I owned had a few extra cars such as the Nissan Skyline R31 (1987?) and a Nissan Bluebird 1600 Deluxe (1969?).

Does anyone know about this or can offer an explantion?

I've loaded up both versions of the game from the same memory card, but the differences are still there.

I'm not sure but I'd love to know the answer if there is one. I think both these cars can be found in the used lots (I might be wrong, tho). Are you sure they're never to be found in used lots of the first copy of your game?

I didn't ever see them in the used lot, but most worringly, they're both missing from Arcade Mode, which shouldn't really be. I'm thinking that maybe there was a GT4 v1.0 and then a v1.1 or something, both discs were original copies of the game as I said earlier, and not Platinum, they're both also UK versions of the game, being played in English. I remember GT2, there were differences depending on which language you selected, such as Honda became Accura, Vauxhall became Opel, etc and not to mention the fact that there were a few extra cars if my memory serves me correctly.

Oh, you're talking about arcade mode..duh. I missed that!

In the version where those cars are missing, have you bought them in GT Mode? That's the only explanation I can think of, because those cars should be there in all versions of the game.

^ That's why. For a large part, you first have to buy a car in sim mode before you can use it in arcade mode. For example. When you win the FGT in sim mode, you can then access it in arcade mode. Hope this helps.:)

Really? Are you serious? So that's the secret, I gotta win the FGT first? Cool! 👍

Yeah but he said he loaded from the same memory card...

To date, i haven't tried Arcade mode at all yet. I'm still miffed that i couldn't enter my own garage cars from sim mode into Arcade mode, and so i never started Arcade yet.

But, you can! In the car selection area, on the top of the screen, there's the favorites and timeline buttons, then theres also buttons that say "1" and "2" in them, and that's where you load in your cars from those memory cards:tup:

To clear up some of the arcade mode confusion, in arcade mode you can use actual cars that you've purchased and tuned in gran turismo mode, with a few minor differences, 1. the tyres, road/stock cars can only use road/sports tyres, so if you have racing tyres on in sim mode, you won't be able to use them in arcade mode, and as for race cars you have the full selection of tyres, the second most major difference being that there is no TCS or ASM, which'll explain why your cars handling is a little more raw.

That's all fine and dandy, but having said that you can only use your sim cars in arcade mode, in 2p mode, not in single player or time trial. I don't really know for lan games, seeing as I haven't tried but I'd imagine you can use your garage.

In LAN mode you can only use a maximum of 30 Arcade mode cars that have been pre-selected to your "Favourites" list.
You cannot use tuned cars from the Sim mode garages in LAN mode.

Slightly off-topic; wow, that's a bit of a wounder, I was expecting LAN arcade mode to be as feature rich as 2p arcade mode. Having said that, in 2p arcade mode you can't save replays, or watch with a single screen (like in GT3).

Anyway, does anyone know what these game differences are down to? (refering to the first post).
