Arcade Mode AI Cars

Hi. I was adding cars from my GT Mode into the "favourites" category to be used in the Arcade Mode of the game, and I wanted to know how the "opponent generator" for the Arcade Races work, for the lack of a better term. For example, I have a 1991 RX-7 tuned to match very closely to the 2002 RX-7 Spirit R's PP value of 466 (...ish), but I haven't been able to make one spawn in the arcade races. More baffling is how my stock 1991 RX-7 makes the game generate 2001 Barthurst R RX-7s and 2009 Evoras as opponents. Does anyone know a good way to manipulate or predict how the game generates opponent cars in the Arcade mode? I'd really love the photo opportunities such races can provide. Thanks in advance!

I don't really know how it works but from my personal experience GT5 doesn't look at the tuning, it always picks AI cars "close" to the stock version of my car's PP, maybe it was just coincidence, no idea.

Change the difficulty, it will probably generate other cars, other than that I don't think there's much you can do to influence GT5's choice of AI cars.

Its very difficult to know exactly how it works, but I know a bit about it. Your opponents come with the cars at stock. Stock aerodynamics, stock tires, stock everything. And also, the PC gets a car better than yours always. With that on mind, try to use always the stock tires, and try not to tune your car unless you want stronger AI. With several tries you may get the car you want by changing the tires or HP.

The AI generator works in mysterious ways. Basically, it takes into account whatever tuning you've done to the car, as well as what tires you have equipped once you load the race. From there on out, you pretty much just have to test different cars with different tires/tuning to see what the AI generator comes up with. It's such a shame that we can't choose AI cars and tires for ourselves.
