Arcade Mode, fastest cars?

What are the fastest cars in the different classes in Arcade Mode. I usually take fast cars with bad handling like Aston Martin or Corvette. But that goes only for the higher classes. Any tips? I'll just post some examples of good cars for each class.

Class C
Mazda Roadster RS

Class B
Mitsubishi Eclipse GT (Very nice stats for a B-class)

Class A
Honda NSX Type S (Stable Car)
Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport (Fast but hard)
Chevrolet Corvette 427 Coupe (Very nice car to drive actually)

A CLASS:
Dodge Viper GTS/RT10

B CLASS:
1. Mitsubishi Eclipse
2. Honda Integra TypeR
3. Mazda Savanna RX7 ∞ III
4. Nissan 180SX Type X

C CLASS:
Mitsubishi Mirage Asti RX
 
I usually just use the same 3 cars for arcade mode.

A Class: Chevrolet Corvette C2 coupe (White with red livery)

B Class: Mitsubishi Eclipse (Red)

C Class: Mitsubishi Mirage Asti (Blue)

All 3 always on the drift setting... Just lovely. Hehe :D
 
C Class: Mirage Asti (damn nice handling)
B Class: Eclipse or RX7 (eclipse RULEZ:dopey:)
A Class: Corvette Coupe or Subaru Impreza WRX STi in black
 
C Class: Honda Civic '93 Si
B Class: Mitsubishi FTO GPX '94 (FTO RLZ!)
A Class: Corvette 427 Coupe '67 or Dodge Viper RT/10

* Not select GTS! This car is havier from RT/10, and horsepower RT/10 not 394HP! but 440HP! identic power to GTS.
RT/10 will have better "Fastest Lap" and "Total Time".
 
I know this is old but whatever I'll share mine.

C Class - Mazda Eunos Roadster RS.(great handling)
B Class - Mazda RX-7 FC3S Infini III.(One of the few FR B class cars.. it always won for me)
A Class - C2 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Stingray(by far the best A class till the viper)
 
Thought this was interesting. Not necessarily the fastest, but the best handling car (in Arcade Mode) is the Impreza according to Sough. I'm inclined to believe him seeing he holds the GT1 Arcade Mode Any% World Record, among many, many other world records in the first three games of the series.



If you watch his Arcade Mode WR video, you'll see the Impreza has a higher corner speed at Grand Valley than the C and B Class cars he used. (Grand Valley runs start at 42:10)

 
C Class: Honda CIVIC SiR-II (EG) '93

I have always enjoyed the Honda Civic in the C class, the Mirage Asti & the Mazda Mx-5 have very little acceleration.

I'd incline to agree the Impreza is the best handling. Most people say it's the Skyline or NSX but from my experience the Impreza just sticks like glue. The Skyline has a hint of understeer and the NSX oversteer. It helps that it's not as fast as the other two as well so for most corners you can just lift instead of braking.

I think the fastest stock car is the Viper GTS, followed by Corvette 67 (as long as there isn't many corners) and NSX.

BTW Sough is fast alright. He did a sub 50 lap in the Escudo at Midfield. My record is a 51 second lap I did for a competition here way way back in 2008. I still have the blurry cell phone pic I took in my PC pictures folder. Ah memories...

What is Any%? Is it just unlocking all the extra cars and hifi mode in Arcade mode?
 
Any% = allows bug exploits, [the forbidden term] or whatever. It's a speed run word...

For me and this takes into account both handling and speed

CLASS C: Mitsubishi Mirage
CLASS B: Mitsubishi FTO
CLASS A: Mitsubishi GTO twin turbo, Impreza

The Impreza's handling in this game is just incredible
 
Hey yall ; ) Any% means beat the game as fast as possible, no 100% acquire everything/do everything type stuff. Speedruns do allow wallriding/cutting, which I don't enjoy, but at least there are no giant glitches or skips in GT1 to exploit.

From my experience there, the best arcade cars are A: 67' Vette, WRX, Viper (in order of race unlocking), B: Eclipse, Soarer, C: Civic.
