I was playing in arcade mode for a while mainly to try out cars before I buy them and I started wondering if the physics are in any way more 'arcade' than in GT mode.

I don't know if it was just me but I noticed that driving overall was more forgiving and the margin for error was greater like braking too late, correcting oversteer etc.

Is there any official info regarding the physics engine of arcade mode being different at any rate than that of the GT mode and if not can you be sure if it is the same or not?

There probably is some sort of guide or whatever written up by someone on the differences between Arcade & GT mode, but I wouldn't be familiar with it.

Physics used to be waaaay different in the first Gran Turismo. They're probably diffferent in GT4 as well, although I've personally never done an official study on the matter. I do know for sure that tire wear differs greatly between Arcade & Sim modes. Hard sport tires, for instance, barely last longer than medium sports in Arcade; but in Sim mode, the Hard tires last anywhere from 3 to 6 laps longer, depending what car, what track, and how you drive.
