bad. A$$ race at spa today! 8 thrilling laps on that monster in my white Clio Renault Sport Trophy Race Car.

*class A Professional (A.I. Difficulty 10... wish we could crank that to 20.)
*Spa Weather Change
*Manual with Clutch (g25 brake pedal heavily modified for heal-toe and also a modified Nixim cell)
*Set tires to Sports Hard during race setup to set the competition vehicles. Nice.
*All aids off, except ABS 1 (don't hate) :nervous:
*Tire wear/Fuel ON
*Grip Reduction REAL
*Damage HEAVY

Get to the pre-race screen and set weather and surface water at race start to 0/0. (otherwise the A.I. starts without rain tires and they'll all pit at the end of a slowwww lap 1. ugh) Set weather changeability to 10 to try and get some action.

Also set my tires to Comfort Soft so we're all much more even in the corners. Check below to see what all of the A.I. had in the rubber department. It's interesting to say the least. 👍

I'm matched against a lot of rally cars, some tuner cars, and a couple smaller road-race machines. Not bad for our much-maligned arcade matchmaker..

The Stratos was clearly the rabbit here.. he should tweet Kaz later about his boring race. The Trial Celica was the one to watch- starting in 10th, going way off track in turn 10 (big sweeping hairpin) on the first lap, dropping him to 12th. After that he proceeded to rip off some NASTY lap times- several 2:51's and even a low 2:50! ****! :scared: -Every time I looked in the mirror he was there, and closing. Quite a departure from the usual train-like behavior of our A.I. bogeys.

My lap times were fairly sharp for Comfort Soft shoes. Lap 6 was outstanding. On lap 7 things got hot and I was freaking out a bit- leading to a couple small slides and one big gnarly save all while battling the Mitsu CZ-3 Tarmac Rally Car. A clean pass was finally made towards the end of this exciting lap only to realize he has made a great charge down the front straight, taking turn 1 WITH me on the outside! We're talking last lap here! I can't believe a gt5 A.I. goober just matched me on the outside of a sharp hairpin turn. The only thing a clean racer can do is give him a car-width exiting this turn. What happens next is just off the chain- side by side through Eau Rouge, inducing me to yell at this video game like a delusional madman! "Let's go you m#%$^&!!" LOL! Now THIS is what I paid nearly $1k for when building my setup (ps3, gt5 collectors ed, tv, g25, custom rig).

Exiting the rouge I was eventually forced to dip behind him on the long straight, giving me a quick draft advantage allowing a clean overtake inside of turn 7. I'll be darned if that sneaky Trial Celica, who had a great view of this wild battle for it's duration, didn't follow me right past him. The rest of lap 8 I was driving safely to protect my position from that lurking red menace. I held off til the end, smoking a front tire going into the bus stop and just holding him off to cross the line in P5. Wow.

Here are my laps:

1- 2:58.5
2- 2:54.0
3- 2:53.8
4- 2:52.9
5- 2:53.1
6- 2:51.9
7- 2:54.3
8- 2:54.8

If I ran every lap like lap 6, maybe I could've caught that Evo for 4th, but that's just not the way it goes in auto racing. Great fun to have someone slicing through the field with me for 20+ minutes, though! The weather threatened, but never came. I'm going to go smoke a cigarrete, now. lol

:D

Sounds like a good race - Ive just started playing with Arcade at A-10

Yes the AI tyre choice is a little strange - but as far as I can tell, your tyre choice has not impact at all on AI cars or the tyres they run...

I think it is all about the PP range.. - need to do some more testing
