Basically I want to use Arduino to build some sort of Speedo/tach/gear indicator. Or maybe just 1 of the three to use with my g27 and iRacing. Any ideas?
I dont think it has to be Arduino. Ive read about a Rev Burner but not sure what that is. Any tips and guidance would be much appreciated!

Not sure if this should go here or in the Sim racing hardware section.

I'm trying to do the same thing, take a look at the thread called 'X-Sim' and you'll see I'm not having much luck! You could use a rev burner to feed signals into an Arduino but I think it's only for a tachometer, X-Sim is supposedly able to output up to 8 pieces of information at once with a sound card, it essentially uses the 3.5mm jacks to output PWM signals to drive servos but you should be able to read those signals with an Arduino. The problem is Arduinos only have five or six analog read pins (I don't have mine in front of me) so you can't use them all.

I'm not really sure about how to do it exactly because I haven't gotten X-Sim running yet, but once you can read the signals with an analog reader sketch it should be really simple. I'm pretty sure if I could get X-Sim working I could make a SLI-M style LED tach in a day or two for peanuts compared to what it costs to buy. I'll keep trying and I'll be sure to post anything I get done here because I think a lot of the more practical people who build their own sim cockpits and such would at least be interested to see what they can do. It would be cool if you could keep us posted on anything you find out or make for yourself, too!
