Engine is "i-force V8" it says that on the back. Is it supercharged? My friend claims his car is supercharged but after googling I can't seem to find out if it's supercharged or not. I find info that says 245 hp, 315lb ft of torque, but it feels MUCH faster than that. Can someone help me out?

His is the Terminator 3 Special Edition by the way, but that shouldn't matter since all the special edition has is upgraded exhaust from TRD the engine is the same.

I meant Toyota TUNDRA NOT TACOMA!

Fairly certain Tacoma's never even had a V8 option, they do have a supercharger option for the 2005+ models though. Regardless, tell him to pop the hood, it's not hard to find it.

Are you sure you're not confusing it with the Tundra?

Ah damnit!!! I meant Tundra!!! Stupid me:drool:.

It was indeed an option for the first few years of the Tundra, supposedly increased the power to 300+HP.

So if I pop the hood what am I looking for? What's it look like? Also if it's supercharged, wouldn't it have a hood scoop? His doesn't.

No. Supercharged TRD Sport and T3 editions do not have hood scoops. Apart from the badges, they look no different than a standard Tundra. They should make pretty far above 300hp versus the standard I-Force V8 which makes around 280.

OK I just checked outside the car is supercharged. But how much horsepower does the car make? 245hp and 315 torque is without supercharger I can't find any details online.

Really, the only way to tell is by hooking it up to a dyno, most numbers you find online will be for what the engine makes when new.

Thanks. It sure feels pretty damn fast. As fast as my 2010 F-150 V8 5.4L that has 320hp and 390 torque. It has even more ridiculous high low end grunt thanks to that TRD supercharger.

^ You have also to factor in the weight of these trucks. The 1st-gen Tundras, 'half-trucks' on what haters used to call them might be lighter than your F-150. ;)

-> And yes those TRD S/C can kick butt. The new one with that bolt-on S/C can keep pace (or even faster) than the 'Viper Truck', the Ram SRT-10!
