I heard that when the game came out there was a bug where cars were disappearing from the stockyard.

I want to put my anniversary cars in there because I don't use them in career mode... but are they likely to be gone when I go back!?

Don't know. Try this.

Make a new user account, the anniversary cars will be added when you start GT6 in that account.

Put them in the stockyard on this account only and check back to see what happens over the next few days.

I've done this and the cars are still in the stockyard two days later. This doesn't mean they won't disappear though.

So you have 500 cars already, then? That's the only time the stockyard is necessary, so until you get close to that amount there's no need to worry.

While that may be true for you, some people would rather not have cars they're unlikely to use in their garage to make finding the car they want to use faster.

I didn't consider that, honestly, I have no trouble at all. I'd still say it's better to avoid it for at least a couple of extra patches, just to make sure no cars disappear. :)

Edit: and what Bluntified said. 👍

That's what favorites are for :).
The problem with the favorites list (if it still works like is did in GT5, I haven't used it yet in GT6) is that when you go to enter an event and you view the list of cars that fit the requirements of the race it shows all the cars in the garage regardless of whether they are favorited or not, and if you view your favorites list it will show all of your favorites regardless of whether they meet the event requirements or not.

So the only way for you to view a list of just your favorite cars that also meet an event's requirement is to only have favorites in your garage. That was not possible in GT5, but now in GT6 since we have the stockyard it is a viable option. But it's only viable IF the stockyard isn't going to eat your cars.

It works the same as GT5.

After playing for a while though, it's easy to know what cars you have that will fit the regulations. I only go by my favorites and tune accordingly.

I never go by the eligible cars because when I race online, I tune way more than offline - so those cars won't show up in eligible cars because of all the added parts/PP.
