There is an X-Box game coming out called Mercedes Benz World Racing.

I wonder what this means for the license held by Gran Turismo.

I wonder if GT fans will be left with fewer MBs just like BMW in GT3 ie the models the other games do not want.

It may restrict the Prototypes.

Interesting - they were in the NFS series and TOCA, so I suspect they have a policy of running non-exclusive license agreements. I wouldn't be too concerned.

Don't forget the new SL was the feature vehicle in the GT Concept opening movie.

Only if the first company is greedy.

eg It appears that when EA buys a license they get written into the agreement that no other company can use the cars.

It also depends on the Car company or race series
eg F1 used to be exclusive and that explained why some games came out with unofficial cars. Now they seem to be choosy ie there are 2 or 3 licensed PC games.

NASCAR have almost always allowed multiple companies use licensed cars in their games.

It appears that BMW have sold exclusive licenses per model ie the Z and M series have appeared nowhere but in NFS games recently to my knowledge. But GT3 had that one model. It disappeared from GTC though.

Chevrolet on the other hand appear to stand their ground and say they can go in whoevers game they choose to. NFS and GT3/GTC. The Z06 is in all 3 games as far as I know. And so is the Mustang.

Porche wanted to be in gran turismo but because of its legal agreements with EA they couldnt go to GT So they asked Ruff to be a part of gran turismo
