When people want a Toyota engine that is tuner friendly and capable of high horsepower, they usually turn to the 1jz and 2jz, but are there any Toyota engines currently in production that also meet these requirements? And by high horsepower, I mean 700 hp or above

Well, the 2AR-FE from the Toyota tC/Corolla is capable of well over 1000hp as a few Formula D guys have proven. However, at that level it's basically a grenade with the pin half pulled, so it's nowhere near as reliable as the old JZs.

I don't think Toyota even has a turbocharged engine available in the US market currently, so I'm gonna say no. Of course you could sink $40k into a Prius engine and make 700hp if you wanted.

Unless we look over at Lexus, yeah, it's all nat-asp. I could've swore Toyota was bringing a turbo to the new Rav4, but apparently not.
