Here's something suckulent: our local Fox affiliate is no longer a Fox affiliate. That's right, no more new Simpsons AND NO FUTURAMA!!!!

 :(

Thank God for DVD collections.....maybe Futurama will have one soon.

Wow, that sucks:mad:

Beta...as in Betamax?

Simpsons' line - picture Snake running from a house with a VCR under his arm - can't remember the episode.

Oh, rite.... :D

"Why! Why was I programmed to feel pain!?!!"

To me i dont see a diff with them both on or not. :( I guess im just a great driver:D

I rarely mess with these controls, maybe turn them down a bit, unless the car is very hard to handle. And then there is no sense in driving it unless you have to.

Just got a "Driving Force" wheel....apparently it's an update of the GT Force...omigod, it's great! I love the resistance on high speed turns, the way the wheel "hops" when you're nearing traction limits...etc, etc.

Setup requires a little further tweaking....the pedals do walk a bit, not as bad as other wheels, tho. I figure velcro or epoxy on some speaker spikes. :D

Just a couple of Qs: does anyone else have trouble with the paddle responding during quick downshifts, i.e., doesn't work all the time? Also, does the select button work? Mine doesn't...can't get rid of those ghosts...

I have a few more troubleshooting ideas, but I may just have to exchange it...thanks for any help with this.

Had you used an 'older' one before? Logitech's website doesn't mention anything about it being different, except for the name (which they don't point out either). What do you mean by "hops", does it jerk in more directions than spinning left and right?

I bought mine about three weeks ago, and have decided to hold off getting used to it until I am 100% complete with the dualshock. I wouldn't want to mess up my driving when I'm THIS CLOSE. (:

No, I've never used an older one....and by "hops" yes I mean quick left-right jerking motions....I s'pose I should have said it simulates wheel hop (as in the front tires) by jerking the wheel.

Yeah, Logitech's website leaves a bit to be desired.

I keep them both on 5 no matter what car, even though i only have the Tureno and Miata MX-5

Join the club - had mine a week.

In answer to your questions:
- yup, the pedals do walk a bit, You get better with it after a week, but try velcro tape on the bottom of the pedal case.
- haven't had a problem with downshifts, but my driving position puts three fingers solidly above the switch. If anything, I shift down by accident more than not shift down - might just be a case of changing your hand position on the wheel
- don't bother with the wheel for the menu selection. Just use the Dualshock II plugged into port 1. You're down a function button on the wheel anyway (I have the buttons set so the missing function is 'change view', which I think is the default set up - you can tailor the button set up anyway)

Also - be warned, the wheel occasionally stops working mid-race. You just need to pause the race, unplug the wheel and re-plug it.

Have you tried it on the rally sections yet? Also, have you noticed the steering load lightens when you're drafting another car?

Yup, I've tried the rally, and it rules. I haven't noticed the drafting thing, tho.

The downshifts are definitely a problem-I use all four fingers! I mean, if I'm braking or turning hard and downshifting at the same time sometimes the downshifting will not work until the wheel is straight and/or I let off the brake pedal. That's repeated attempts....all the way in, all the way out. It's like the thing gets overloaded. If this is common to all wheels, I'm just going to return it. I shouldn't pay $100 US (dunno what it works out to in AUS $) for something with an inherent design flaw.

Haven't had a "just stops working" episode. Maybe that's why they've changed over to the "Driving Force" wheel...the GT may have been buggy....I don't see how QA could have missed the d/s thing. It happened to me within a few minutes of playing!

Don't ask about the South Pacific Peso that masquarades as the Aussie dollar - it's not pleasant!!

That sounds like a definite 'back to base' problem - mine's a little too keen to shift, if anything.

Hey, that reminds me - does anyone know if the upcoming World Rally Championship game for PS2 is going to be compatible with USB plugged force-feedback wheels?

i just use traction..who cares about stability..but with both off the car just goes crazy and nags into everything..sucks
