👍 Started the 9 hr race before I went to bed, Started another before I went to work. 1.2M+ exp and I should have an X1/X2010 (lvl 35) when I get home tonight.

Congrats. The car is scary and fun to drive at the same time. You will need a quick reaction time to get the most out of it's performance capabilities.

It's that hard to get the money in GT5, because you can't win unlimited cars like in previous GTs.
And since that makes no sense at all, you may as well do:
1) The birthday trick and get nearly every good car
2) Do the "light version" of dupe, without b-day thing. Just save up some money, maybe 4 or 5m, then save and copy your save somewhere. Buy any car that you want, send to your 2nd PSN account (make it in case if you don't have it... which i doubt, because everyone i know has at least 3), then copy your old save with money back and send the car that you just bought to your main account. Now you have and money and car. Can repeat in 24 hours with another car.
Then you can trade something for some X1 if you want, since there's millions of those now.

Is that the "right" thing to do? Probably no, so is the PD's decision to cut unlimited prize cars.
Will it save you endless hours of grinding on stupid oval or from doing nothing while Bob racing in b-spec. Yes indeed.

I didn't had to do that, since i had 6 stealth cars (stealth mazda 787B kinda destroys everything in extreme series), but i would if i had too.

Instead of falling asleep griding Indy for 117k credits, you can start the race and then take a nap! BTW, what's a "social life"?

If you put a bit of effort in to B speccing at the beginning and get to the level neccessary to open the enduros, you can run B spec whilst you sleep/work... no effort at all then.

This.

I just sit around getting stuff done and come in and check to restart the DC Indy race. Gets me free money while I accomplish real things. At night, I'll start one of the B-Spec enduros and wake up in the morning, usually the Indy 500.

Wow, i didn't expect that the most of the guys would play B-spec in that way! :nervous:

Now B-Spec does not make sense to me. It's such a waste of time (and mainly ps3 lifetime) because most of people here run B-spec while they're doing other stuff such as sleeping. They are not having fun with GT5 in the meantime! It's ridiculous (edit: I say that because i'll have to do this too!) I mean, what's the objective of gaming? Anyway, they could just give more credits for A-spec and I would be a B-spec player level 0 forever.

I'm not saying that you are wrong (khj94704, SS_1182 and Stotty), people play the way they want to, but that's my opinion.

Social Life is a lot a things, such as having friends, girlfriends, go to work etc. I was being sarcastic because seems that Dennisch spent a lot a his time to earn those things he said. So, he could not be able to spend time enough with social life. Don't you know "forever alone"? It could describe precisely our friend here...

It was the same in A-spec............at level 0 what do you expect? 5 million credits right away, to go buy the Vitz you need for the Beginner championship??? The money grind is brutally easy, I don't see what the problem is. You've obviously spent alot more than you need. Plan out your championships, and race using the cars that you have. Earn prize cars, and race with those. I'm almost done the expert series, and have one endurance race done, and I've NEVER felt the need to go grind a race for money. I have yet to get into a problem where I couldn't buy a car I needed for a race.

What a completely useless thread, as you answered your own question here.............

I would certainly expect a higher reward. A-spec level could in someway increase rewards in B-spec or unlock some races, for example.

Do you have my savegame to say that with so much conviction?! I certainly did not spend more than I needed, because what I need is fun. The cars which I bought could be useless for the A-spec, but they were very useful for having fun, understand? That's not a useless thread. I got the conclusion that GT5 restricts your fun on the beginning because if you have the money to buy your dream's cars, you won't do it if you prefer to get any progress...

B Spec is part of the game... you do have a choice if you want to run the B spec side, but don't criticise other people for their choices.

I am more than likely doing something interesting whilst my Bobs are running B Spec races... my life includes many more things than GT5, such as my wife, my job, golf, football, snowborading, sailing, karting, cars and of course my friends.

GT5 is as much a game of strategy as anything else... if you work out the best way to run the different aspects of the game you can progress more quickly than other players... of course it helps if you're a reasonably decent driver too ;)

So don't jump to conclusions about people having nothing to do but play GT5. I've had no problems getting to lvl 35 A spec and 38 B spec whilst still having a balanced life, thank you very much.

As I said, people play the way they want to. I'm criticising because I am planning of running B-spec the way you do, although i haven't said that. So I can judge my own acts too, even if they are wrong.

Yes. I realized that Gt5 is a strategy game the moment i was without money. But I didn't know that the money was going to be a problem when I first played it. It's my first contact with Gran Turismo since PS1. I imagine that GT4, GT5P uses the same system as GT5 does...

Hey, i'm not jumping to conclusions because it's the way I am or whatever. That user called me a noob without a reason, I just made a joke at him.

Then perhaps you should be more mindful of how your posts may appear before you include a quote from me, along with naming me and insinuating that I (and others) have no other interests in my life... when you know nothing about me other than what you have read in my posts and what's in my public profile.

This is what I've done in the last week. I used the birthday trick to get the 330 P4 and the Mark IV GT40, and with #2 I've gotten myself 2 Super GT cars, an F430, a Gallardo, and tonight I'm going to dupe the Ford GT Spec II Test Car.

It might be cheating, but what's the point of putting 1000 cars in the game if GT mode only gives you enough money for a fraction of them?

Now i see the misunderstanding. I was not saying things about you life or even about the other people quoted. I was just answering the question of user "khj94704", who asked what was the meaning of "social life". Maybe you should have more attention and read the entire post. You would not make this confusion.

Those words were for the user that called me a noob, it was just a joke on him.

I did read the entire post... You started by quoting his post, mine and SS_1182's together, and you then went on a general ramble about the futility of B speccing and it's impact on people's social life.

As I said, if you're trying to make a point, be mindful how your posts may appear to others.

I'm at level 25 A-Spec (level 27 B-Spec), and I have 3.37 million credits. What I do, is not go down to the previous million/below a certain amount. For example, at the moment I won't go below 3 million. So when I get to 4.x million, I won't go bellow 4 million, and so on...

(Except when I had to buy the Formula Gran Turismo for 4.8 million credits, I would have 10+ million credits right now...)

I didn't talked about B-spec and its impacts on people's social life.

The goal throughout the game has been to represent real life. So there is your answer.

GT Life is a mockery of what a race driver would go through.

To answer the original question, do seasonal events. If you want more money, make multiple PSN accounts and redo the seasonal events, then buy cars and send them to yourself.
