The Dodge Viper is an American beast. But this concept gives it sort of a European feel. Now, I'm a big fan of the Viper, and I surely think this is a beautiful machine. I think it's more of American with the sort of muscle car look to it (in terms of how it's painted up), and European with those trumpets. It's a lovely machine. Or as Vicki Butler-Henderson would say, "delicious."
As much as I like the Viper (especially the hardtop coupe of the latest variant), I would love to see DaimlerChrysler return to sportscar racing with this latest Viper. It was a brilliant machine in (then) GTS trim, so imagine this bad boy saying "okay, we're sick of Corvettes dominating and prostituting their Le Mans victories. It's time we retake the crown!" It would be even better if Team Oreca returned to their lost love. They were perhaps the best Viper sportscar racers in the car's history.
I'm sorry to go off-tangent, but this is a wicked car. The latest hardtop, this concept... come on now. What's not to love?
and agree it would be nice to see the new Viper's turn up on the racetrack and show the Vette's who rules the racetrack. We can only live in hope that someone is smart enough to see the new Viper's potential on the racetrack.
