Ascari un-news - what's their deal?

Ascari has fallen off the map in recent months and I heard rumors that unless a new financial backer steps in, the whole company will be deserted, production, development and Race Resort Ascari included...

Anyone have another in-the-loop informant that can attest to this turmoil? I didn't particularly like the looks of these cars, and I found the gearbox on the newest A10 particularly asinine, but both A10 and KZ1 still had a strange allure to them (in particular - the KZ1 being one of the only cars I find attractive in silver).
 
Hmmm, good point. I guess I really haven't seen anything since the A10 last showed up on Top Gear. And that was a long time ago.
 
I can't think of anything humourous to add to this ordeal.

Perhaps they are making enough money as is on the project, or did, so the founder pulled the plug. Or, the dream was to build a few cars, then pull out. Or, poor management.
