Aside from TOCA3 and GT4 what other racing games?

I mean, I keep buying games just to be disapointed because they aren't as realistic or fun as TOCA or GranTurismo. I have my PS3 nowand am curious what games support the 900degree steering of the Logitech DFP and atleast a decent physics engine. Ridge Racer 7 turned out to be less than I had expected as did Motor Storm. I guess Motor Storm is kind of fun when you use the 6 axis controller but, withtt he wheel it bites. Full Auto 2 was agrave let down. I guess its okay ifyou use the controller but I like my wheel. Once you have played TOCA and GT you kind of get to the point where you demand a higher standard from your racing games.

I am branching out into adventure and roleplaying games. I am trying to find a copy of Warhawk that wont break the bank but still has the headset. I'll be the first to admit that I'm a pennypincher. I'll pinch it until it screams:scared: but that is how I can afford to play. I am also looking out for a copy of heavenly Sword and want to try Army of Two andthat other war game they have been showing on commercials ere atley the name escapes me right now. I still am a sucker for a badto the bone race game.

I read inanother post that you can't download games to the PS# like you could the PS2 30,ooo series and 50,ooo series like the PS2 does if you install a hard drive. Is this true? if so Then why the need for such large harddrives? I mean I can use a large hardrive to store photos but then again I shoot with a large resolution camera and sometimes shoot in RAW so the file sizes get big FAAAAST, but if you can't store your games...???

Also, how do you access the browser on the PS3? I am hooked up to DSL and have registered my console and my name. When I try andopen the browser it just goes to a page and says theer like its hung up.
 
We'll just replaying to you tread there road rash i was wondering the same thing, i have my PS3 and DFP in about a week or so and was wondering what sorta fun hardcore racing games there is out there to buy, yes GT5 prologue comes out in about a week but apart form that im just not sure...

also my friend has a 60GB PS3 with the interent and downloads games though his PS3 and stores them on his hard-drive i think he downloaded the GT HD and Warhark great games i think at maybe a cut price because its not on disc im not sure.

I van't wait until codemasters finally finishes Grid but may end up having to settle for GT5 Prologue myself. I really want to just wait until polydigital finally puts outthe full version. I thinkits pretty lame that it still in production. I'm goingto check into downloading games as soon as I buy the new harddrive for my PC. On Christmas day the desktop computer ebooted itself and never came fully back to life. My lovely self absorbed 18 year old daughter ended up getting a virus in the bootsector for me to deal with going to websites I had told her to sta off of. I was abled to reload widows after a bit of coaxing...it took two and a half months just to get it to do that. I thought I had it fixed when I reloaded winders but I am now having stupid litttle operational problems that just ltell of a deep seated virus still infecting it.Whatever virus it is it is a doozy because it stayed on the harddrive evenm after I douched it.

I'm getting a 160 GB HDD tommorrow when the wifey gets paid. She works at WalMart and they have it theer for $75. This little laptop I'm using right now just doesn't have the guts to do a lot. Heck the playstation website is tooooo much for it. I'm lucky if it stays long enough to hit one hyperlink before it overloads and shuts down the browser!
 
Well, you might need to redo the Network Setup on your PS3, other than that I don't know what to tell you about internet.

Anyway, it seems that the PS3 is lacking "Good" Racing games, from what I've looked at, Burnout Paradise seems to be the highest rated one, but I'd rather have something with race tracks, anyone got anything to suggest?

Get Enthusia Professional Racing its by far the best driving simulator (simulator) for the PS2 and for me its the best of the best side by side with the old Sega's F355 Challenge.

You know, I had been looking for Enthusia a while back on a recommendation from another forumite. It got shoved out of thought for some reason or another. I think it may have been that I was having troubles finding a NTSC version of it. I have tossed the idea of F1 around a bit but haven't seriously looked for a copy of the game yet. No particular reason either I just had otherthings that were a higher priority at the time. That said I have since bought other games while searching for the other prioritized objects. That would be the PS3 I now have plus games for the PSP we bought my daughter as her big thing from the tax return, the guitar I bought my son as well as the one I found for myself, and the awesome 10 watt tube amp for practicing...datta da datta da datta...I have a 50Watt 2x12 amp but 2x12 tube amps of any wattage tend to be a but heavy(mine is 76lbs) and becomes a pain to pull out and jam with BUT back on subject; in that span of time I have bought RRacing Evolution:yuck:, Ridge Racer7:yuck:, Full Auto2:crazy:,Dark Kingdom:ill::crazy:, NFS Carbon:indiff: and Racing Sydicate( here I wish I had a smiley making a whacking motion with his fist) and I don't mean whacking as in hitting something either:sly:From now on I am going to go around the corner to BlockBuster and rent games before I buy them.Except for Warhawk...I already know I'm gonna have ablast with that one. I hate BlockBuster but they do have their uses. I bet that BB has F1 but Enthusia is just goingto have to be another one of those I take a chance on. Based on the reviews here it seems like a pretty safe bet.
 
Enthusia has interesting & challenging physics, so the driving is great, but the racing isn't that good, because (like GT4) it has poor AI, collision physics & no damage. You can pick it up cheap if you can find it, so it is not a major investment. I'm not sure if it will work on a PS3, however.

F1:CE is completely devoted to the F1 season, cars, drivers & tracks (2006 season). Many, including myself, think it was a seriously underrated game when it was reviewed. I was not a particular F1 fan before I bought the game, but I have enjoyed this game a lot - it's probably my favorite console driving sim so far - the racing is very intense because it has good AI, collision physics, & damage. It is not an easy game, but if you enjoy a challenge & serious racing, as opposed to driving a large selection of cars around, I would 100% recommend it.

Both Enthusia & F1:CE take some commitment to get the most out of them - neither have the immediate appeal of some arcade racers, or even GT4. They are also completely different from each other, but both are very worthwhile games.

Then they must be in the same category as TOCA. Personally as a Racing Simulator TOCA ia way more realistic than GT4 and the physics rock. You can tell the difference between vehicles and vehicle classes and performance. Personally I have ecome to take GT4 less and less seriously especially when reading posts wher itstouted as this great realistic game. The game cheats at every turn. While racing I have had production cars outrun and outhandle Racing cars of the same model. Corner etter than I can and otherwise make it around the track in a racing line thats impossible for me to follow even when racing a similar or better car than the AI. After a while I get frustrated and have to take a break from it. Its the one game I don't mind using cheats in. I feel that using the cheats simply levels the playing feild.

I just bought Warhawk tonight so I'll have to look and see if I can get into atleast F1 for a reasonable price. I got my Warhawk for $40 so atleast I did good on that.
