We are kind of tight for money this year but I'm dying to get my hands on a wheel. I'm asking for the DFGT this year (I'd ask for a G27 but like I said, money is tight) and I've gotten mostly positive feedback and good ratings for it over all the reviews I've looked at. Is it worth asking for, or should I ask for something else? Is there any other better wheel in the same price range?

Great wheel, lousy pedals.

You can't go wrong though, it's the best choice at that price range. 👍

Agreed. Pedals aren't very realistic, but for the price it's a great value. It's well built and has a ton of functionality built into the wheel. Although some people might say it's not necessary, I would highly recommend getting the Granturgismo paddle shifters - just the feel of them added a lot to my gameplay experience.

I'd highly recommend it if you're on a budget.

I really don't care how good the pedals work so much as I want pedals in general. As long as I have them I will be ok. I've read virtually all reviews I could find and most give it an 8.5/10 rating with the pedals being the downfall. I was just wondering as I wanted to know if there was anything better in this price range. Been stuck with a controller since I started GT, and hated the old wheel I had so I was hesitant to ask for a new one.

It's the best for the money...You can build a mount for it cheap too..

Hope Santa get's down the chimmey..

Have you ever used a wheel?
DFGT is a great choice in that case, great beginner's wheel and the best wheel in it's classFORGOT ABOUT 911 CARRERA.
Yes pedals are bad but bad in a way of feel, they aren't going to break down.
Paddle shifters are just buttons but they do the job.

The wheel will change the game for you, go for it.

Yes I have, but I hated it.

Mod the pedals, keep #winning! :D

€: oh, someone posted the link to the video already - meh, go for it anyway. :)

the links should be made a sticky right at the top of the section
I know it's probably some free advertising for kevin,
but there's no other person/ company investing in making mods/ additions for the lower-spec wheels.

So those of us who can't justify spending 3x the money on a G27 or Fanatec product can still get a better product.

Kevin, if you're reading this, we'd like to see some Granturgismo upgraded springs for the pedals next.
even with the above mod they could still be stiffer.

Nay, how about a new pedal set? He could sell the shell so we only had to open up the standard pedals, remove the electronics and place them in the improved pedal shell manufactured by him. He has the machinery to make and shape those nifty paddles, so why not pedals? :D

One can dream, right?

I picked up the dfgt off of craigslist and enjoyed the hell out of it, that is until I played with my buddy's G27. It blew me away. I was envious. It turned out that he didn't play GT5 as much as he thought he would and sole me the G27 for $60. Hell of a deal and a bit of luck. You'll enjoy it man.

@OP

It's worth it. I'm in your position, secured a purchase yesterday. Can't wait for 25th December now. Everything everywhere says it's great. And the wheel you have used before, did it have force feedback?

Do you use a wheel without force feedback at the moment? Did you get the DFGT yesterday?

OP should deffo look at Fanatec 911 Carrera, the best wheel for that money.
Just sayin'.

- 30cm rim
- Adjustable angle of rotation
- H shifter
- Clutch
- Upgradeablility (you can buy other pedals and shifter)
- Price 130$

It's a bargain!

Yup, but sure the pedals will fall sooner or later and you'll start pulling your hair out of frustration. But you can always upgrade the pedals once the standard pedals starts to fail on you.

I have a Carrera wheel 👍

It's also double the RRP of the DFGT (here in Australia)

Yeah, I'm aware that Aussies get ripped off by customs, delivery and taxes when buying Fanatec items. :/
The problem is to be solved soon, since Thomas said they're working on official support for Australia/NZ.

To OP - you need to make a big decision so think wisely. 👍

Think so. It was a ***** to turn though.

This, and I would also recommend those paddle shifters.
