Im thinking about doing this enduro. i will be using the Elise111R (550PP) and the best AI car will be the S2000 GT1 Turbo (614PP).

1. is it even practical to use the elise and win?
2. what tires do i use?
3. if i suspend the race, can you remove the disk, play another game, and then come back and it still has the race saved?

If anyone could help me with these points, it would be greatly appreciated!:)

1. I can't really say if it's a good idea. Try a few laps, and see if you like the dificulty :)

2. I think you can use every tire there is, apart from snow and dirt of course. I would try Sport Softs.

3. Yes. :)

Any thnx, u can close this thread now.

EDIT: THE AI WILL STOP AT NOTHING TO LOOSE! I drove 5 laps, racing hard tires, and im 14 seconds ahead! Holy crap, pd IMPROVE THE AI... PLEASE!!!

Well just power down the car and use the suggested sports softs...

You cant expect the AI to follow your overpowered car, if you want a challenge you have to build it yourself.

I did it in a ReAmemiya RX-7 and had to restart 5 times to find a detuned setting that would make it challenging. PD makes races so the casual crowd can participate and win, making it more challenging is then up to you.

Errm, my car has, what, 300 HP...? Im pretty sure that its not overpowered!

This is my next endurance race, I'm also planning on using a car with 500~550pp for this

But as said before, try racing with sport tires, I believe it will be more fun, and if you have trouble anytime during the race you can change to racing tires at anytime.

Get a range of tyres for the race.

Then you can step up or down your tyres to match pace with the AI cars.

Your pace will improve as you drive Tsukuba... So you will be lapping maybe a second or two faster at the end than you did at the start on average probably.

Also The AI can get caught up in traffic... so an otherwise fast AI car can lose a whole chunk of time being stuck behind a slowpoke/backmarker.

Have fun. Make it a test - Alter the Brake Bias to spice things up. Run No ABS or Traction control for a Stint to simulate a problem with the car.

It is also a good idea pay close attention to the field of cars, and if you have the name list turned on at all make a note of who is in what car. When I ran the 9 hour, I wasn't actually racing my real competitor until 3 hours or so into the race. I could have easily walked away from the field at the start but once it sorted itself out I had quite the race on my hands since I had been excessively clean and conservative during the early stages.

The rabbit will likely not jump to the front nearly as quickly as you can on a track as tight as Tsukuba, but with the [long ago] updated AI behavior that causes so much frustration they do tend to be a lot better at getting past the lapped cars than they were in the past. They can still get stuck, but usually not for too long unless they catch multiple cars at once or one of the top 4-or-5 cars.

300 HP can be to overpowered when the car in question weighs around 850 kg or less, and is very nimble on that short, curvy track.

Try putting some ballast on it, or maybe decreasing the horses. And in my opinion you should be able to get a good challenge with Sports Hards. At any given time though, be sure to bring the whole range of different tires of hards, mediums and softs just incase..

Good luck.

As long as those AI cars are normal road cars, wich they are in that 9 hour race. I would stay away from RH and SS. Especialy if you want a challenge. Downtune the car to have around the same PP as the top car (you can see that in the "typical oponents list") and then select tires that allow you to drive just a bit faster, and equal speed as the AI.
Just buy all tires from CH to SM, so you can change tires if you find yourself to fast or too slow.

I recently ran this with a 450PP S2000 and creamed the opposition, albeit without the GT1 Turbo present. The Elise is so nibble that it will easily stay with the GT1 at that level of tune, even on SS tyres. Tbh, if you want a close race with more than one car to go up against, then I'd try and avoid a grid which includes such a 'rabbit' car and pick for yourself something less powerful that laps around the 1 minute mark on good tyres and low fuel. :)

Don't, or you'll end up looking worse than this poor guy!

Funny! The 9-hour is coming up on my list of enduros to complete. I did it in GT4 a long time ago, and well, that's how I felt afterward. Ugh.

They must have lowered the difficulty. I did the 9hr race last year (about a yr ago now) with the R35 TC and the S2000 GT1 Turbo stayed fairly close to me. I don't care much for Tsukuba, so I went overpowered and I lapped the pack about every 10-15 laps, and the GT1 about every 30-40. The Nurb' 24hr is a challenge I actually enjoyed, but that's another thread.
