Lately I have found and incredible annoying problem with assassins creed revelations on my PS3. I didn't notice it at first but these days I do. It will freeze randomly whilst playing, some for half a second, some for like 4-5 seconds. Then the game just continues. I also noticed that when it freezes, shadows still move but Ezio and everything else stops.

I also noticed that it freezes more when in enclosed spaces like sprinting through a market for example. Also, after it freezes, sometimes the textures on the walls won't load properly for a while, until I stop and give it chance to 'catch up' with itself.

I have tried cleaning the disk and there doesn't seem to be any scratches on it, so I don't know..
Is it normal for this to happen, like maybe it's because the game is too far ahead of consoles? But then again I didn't notice it when I first started the game.

Due to another problem I had with the game I reinstalled the game data and the update data but that didn't fix it.

Any suggestions? This is getting seriously annoying especially as I have actually started to enjoy the game when I previously didn't.
Cheers.

First off, AC:R is not really pushing the limits of current-gen consoles.

If your game is freezing it sounds like it's PS3 related. Check and see if it's overheating. Heck, go ahead and vacuum it out.

Does it do this with other games?

I gave the disk a really thorough clean and it sorted it abit..still freezes abit though especially when it's autosaving.

I also felt to see how hot it was getting and I have felt it hotter, but I'll vacuum it later. I'll also check with some other games.

I get back to you.

Tried vacuuming it and it didn't work. But then, just as I was finishing the story my GT acadamy thing stated it had finished...so my thinking is it was that downloading which was slowing my PS3 down, I haven't had chance to try it again since but hopefully that was the problem...thanks ParkourVeyron.

EDIT: Seems alot better now, still abit freezy, but not as much.
