I am trying to change my online handle or get a new online handle so that i can be GTP_thefraggle as suggested on here on another thread but i cant for the life of me seem to be able to change my name. how can i get it to show me as GTP_thefraggle when i race online?
Please GTplanet-kenobi, you are my only hope

you need to set up another account on your PS3, i was told this by a fella who sent me his new handle

i tried to do it but failed, so if you manage it, please post a step-by-step

1st step - create a new user in your PS3...

after that, i'm in the dark :ouch:

True, you can not change your PSN-ID, only create a new account if you wish to race under a new name.
 
i have tried to do this but as soon as i do it loses lal info on my GT5P game save and expects me to do it all again and with the ford gt F40 and the F1 in it i am not in a rush to go along with that. does anybody know i can get round this?

You simply transfer your GT5P game save via a USB memory stick from your old user account to the new account.
 
Put your game save on a usb pen drive,then load your new account and transfer the game save from pen to ps3.

Was too slow there on the post ..lol!

You don't even need to do that, once the new user account is created, go back into your main account (the one with the save you want) and press the triangle button with the GT5:P save selected.

Take the copy option and among the locations it allows you to copy to are all the users on your PS3. Pick the new user and press the X button.

Quick and easy way to move saves around without needing to use a datastick.

I wrote about it on another thread how it will eventually cause a problem when people start putting GTP or GTPlanet tags in front their handle; due to the fact that there is no way to track those people.

In theory, I can create a GTPlanet_PAWNS-ALL PSN ID, go online and trash every game I am in, and no one or no record can state this person is not an authorized tag user, cause the forum do not keep track of everyone who uses the GTP or GTPlanet tag :nervous:

Oh, well it is not my problem. Personally I hate the concept of wearing tags to begin with and I will never wear one. :rolleyes:
