Shown as a one-off concept in 2004, the Vanquish Roadster caused quite a stir among Aston Martin enthusiasts, most of whom had not been expecting an open top variant of the Vanquish to be offered. Ultimately, only this one original concept, which was mechanically based on a pre-production Vanquish coupe, was produced, and it currently resides in the US.

Performance and specifications are unclear, but are likely close to that of the original model, meaning circa 500 horsepower and a kerb weight in excess of 1,800 kilos. Visually, the Roadsters only major difference when compared to the regular Vanquish (apart from the convertible roof) is the re-styled rear end, with more typical Zagato-style lights and a larger boot lip wing. Zagato says that this model features an electronically folding roof, but this was never showcased to the public.

Unfortunately, the Vanquish Roadster never reached customers hands, but we may still have a chance to enjoy it in the virtual world of GT...
