Hey guyz,

I wanted to start this thread in order to talk about some problems that I think I have (I didnt been to the doctor yet for that but will definitly gotta go do some tests). I think I have attention and concentration deficits. I never been able to listen to the teacher back in the days that I was at school, or never been able to be concentrated to do a work, exam, studies, whatever I needed to do. I still today cant seem to concentrate on some things I need to do. I'm currently trying to learn some things but cant seem to concentrate, resulting that the informations doesnt get in my head. Also, I'm a visual guy which is already enough difficult to understand something when readed, so with concentration deficit its the apocalypse. So, this **** is really pissing me off. I try as best as I can to do those things but never see the end of it, I cant do it.

Do you guys experiment this ?? Have this ?? Some of you may have tricks and tips to solve problems ?? Can you give me some help ??

I'm going to E-Diagnose you because I have an E-Doctor's degree in E-Problems from the Prestigious E-Doctor School of E-Problems.

You have Dyslexia and ADD.

And a bad case of "The Misspellings"

If you even put any thought into replying, you would've noticed that I ment go see a real doctor instead of relying on a bunch of forumphiles to diagnose you over the internet. What the hell does anyone here know better than what a doctor can tell you?

ADD is not something any of us can help you out with, that's something usually fixed by medication.

I dont want any "diagnostic". I want to know if the people that have those kind of things has tricks and tips to counter that ****.

Er... I have ADHD and am posting this instead of doing my homework. So you can see how well I cope...

Seriously though, unless it is having significant negative effects on your life, I wouldn't recommend medication. I've been on (in chronological order) Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall, and Strattera. I'm no longer taking drugs, and I feel much better (although my concentration sucks again). The main reason I stopped the medication was that I was getting an elevated heart rate (110-120 bpm resting). My resting heart rate as of today is 79 bpm.

Okay!

Doc prescribed me Adderall. Generally it takes effect for a good five or so hours, then my mood and energy goes to hell. Considering what it is (a cocktail of amphetamines), I'm well aware that it's probably not the best thing to be taking. I decided that I have and have had ADD for probably my whole life, and my doctor (a knowledgable guy, just obviously not in this particular department) prescribed this. We'll see if it pays off.

Hello MugenVTEC,

You seem to be asking for two things:- for tips on how others handle a condition such as attention disorder, and also what you can do about it...

Hopefully the first point can be addressed by any folks here who are in the same boat, or by doing some research yourself (like finding some info on the web - like here for example)... but arguably the second point is more important in the long run. MistaX is absolutely right... we are not qualified to answer you properly - only give you a 'mixed bag' of thoughts and opinions - and not professional advice that is actually going to help you - therefore it's important that you go and speak to someone who is qualified... even if it's just to talk informally or even just to find out the basics...

I didnt been to the doctor yet for that but will definitly gotta go do some tests

All I'd say is this:- why haven't you spoken to your doctor yet? What have you got to lose? Usually you'll find it most comforting to know that you've addressed the situation with someone who actually knows what they're talking about...anyway, good luck ;) 👍

I sometimes have bit of comprehension problems when someone's speaking to me. I don't know if it's my hearing or some sort of ADD or I just don't care what they are saying to me. :p It could be sleep depriviation though. Hanging around gtp at 1:34 AM sure doesn't help. I do a lot better, when I get at least 6, 7 hours of sleep.

P.S. MistaX & TM's right, seeing a doctor sounds like the way to go. I think you do have ADD. Nothing to lose, everything to gain by talking to a doctor. :)

Yeah i have problems like this all the time. I never pay attention at school, i used to but now i just find it so dull i can barely keep my eyes open. I don't get much sleep either which is probably part of the problem.

Back when I was younger, they thought I had Attention Deficit Disorder too. They put me on Ritalin and Dextroamphetamine, but both drugs gave me the shakes. Turns out I didn't have it, I just have a short attention span. Or I did have it, but it wasn't serious enough to warrant drugs.

How old are you? It may just be something you'll grow out of in time. But like everyone else here, I think you should go see your G.P.

ADD is an acronym. So shouldn't it technically be spelt A.D.D?
