Yes in deedy it is! And don't think its some other Photoshop spin-off (ie: Elements), nope, this is Photoshop 8 in its fullest form. And the upgrade is only $169.00 if you own Photoshop 7 (Yes, own. The people who bought it. Little thieves.)

Uh huh, you spent over 1000 dollars (AU) on a program to edit photos when you're not a professional?

I don't know who would actually spend $1000 on some program for someone under 18...Maybe a rich person.

Actually, I got the program legally but another way. See, you're allowed to distribute through family and friends if its for personal use. So the person who helped me build my computer had it and gave me the disc and everything. And I'm using it for my own personal use so its completely legal. :)

And yes, Cobra, I am a professional in the making; I plan on being an artist when I become of age.

This isn't on topic though, Photoshop CS is out! Whoo-hoo!

Uh... :odd:

As long as he didn't sell it to me and I sold it to other people, its completely legal. If I were to go and distribute it throughout my neighborhood for 20 bucks a copy, it would be illegal.

That's still illegal. You don't have a license to use that software.

I think you better read the EULA again. :)

Woohoo!! I'm sure I'll be spending more time with this than GT4

(ok, maybe not - but I scared you there, right :D )

I looked on the Adobe site and it doens't seem to be that much of an improvement on 7... maybe i'm wrong. Does anyone have a link to a good list of new features (i'll look through adobe again)?

I would call those some great improvements.

If all you do is "vector" and "chop" then probably not, though.
Yeah. I don't see how people who only vector or chop would even need Photoshop 7, or possibly even 6.

Doesn't Adobe not really care about illegal useage of Photoshop, as long as people use it and spread it out?

Yeah, I remember a press conference or something and they said they were just happy that people were using it. It costs so much anyway that they still are making ass-loads of money. :p

Oh, yeah - right. I'm sure they don't care one bit about piracy.

Oh, and that is why they were monitoring people's PC's for invalid serial numbers and that is why (apparently) they added product activation to their products?

thats why i use the GIMP now...go Linux and GNU public licensing

GIMP is nice, but it can't do what Photoshop can do for professionals. It's a shame, really - I like to see open source products do well.

No, no, no. Not people getting it off of KaZaA or something. People doing what I did. Giving it to family and friends...like one or two people.
