Post your findings of amazing attention to detail found in FM4.
Mine is how if you car has a temp display on the dash, it matches the track conditions shown on the loading screen.
Also, when racing my Mercedes with bonnet cam, catching some sharp glare off the back the the emblem on the bonnet. Not just a blur of glare either, as it passed you could see it coming off each facet of the Mercedes logo.

In auto vista, when you start and rev the engine, the digital clock on the screen show the time.

The wind rush sound you get when going close to a wall at speed, gets louder the closer to the wall you get.

Infact, I remember the in car clocks in FM3 showed the real time too. It's not a new thing!

All the little details saved in your replays. I saved a replay from a 16 player online race and I was amazed at all the tiny little visual details available to each and every 16 cars!

I looked around in photomode and can zoom in on every car. I could see the fine-prints on the wheels and tires, the details of the tire valves, etc, etc. I could even look through the windows of not only my own car, but all the cars of the other players and see details like radios, steering wheel, air vents and everything.

In addition, I can see the telemetry of all 16 cars in my replay! I know that some of these were already in previous versions, but it still amazes me.

How upgrading your exhaust has a visible effect on your car.

Oh no. Wait.

I thought it did? Visually or performance wise?
I just remember people talking about seeing different exhaust tips and mufflers, but that was when all we had were screenshots. Haven't looked for it myself in-game.

The exhausts only change with different bumpers.

The Top Secret rear bumper for the Nissan GTR makes the exhausts look terrible!

I love the way the stanchions sound as you come down the straight at Indy, even in the slower classes...that "whump...whump...whump...whump" brings a grin to my face every time.

The old school muscle car bonnets that had some form of opening for example the El Camino SS and the Plymouth GTX "air grabber" actually working really blew me away.

I've noticed you can see the radiator fan on the F458 Italia using the bonnet cam in certain light :D

That sound is so cool!
Not really 'attention to detail' but I love the fog on the Ring, just makes it seem more real for some reason

Turn 10 did a hell of a job designing interiors. :D

Ahah! So that's where that's from. A friend has a photo of an "air grabber" in his Storefront, but I wasn't sure what I was looking at. Now I know.

EDIT:
Oh, earlier I was driving one of the V8 Supercars and noticed the running timer on the wheel. I thought it was kinda neat that there was a digital timer constantly ticking away, actually represented in the game.

It does that in-race too. 👍

This surprised me when I first noticed it in my Abarth 500. At first I thought it was set depending on what time the race you were in was supposed to be (i.e. late morning, sunset, etc). I only realised it told you the actual time where you are when I was doing an afternoon race at Suzuka and the clock said it had just gone 11pm!

I've found an example of a lack of attention to detail. If you add an aftermarket hood to the FC RX-7 and drive it with the bonnet cam, you can see a painted black "panel" covering the opening. If the sun hits it right it really sticks out.

Not so much attention to detail, but a cool find if you have not found it yet. If you drive using manual w/clutch, you can rev the car yourself throughout the whole pre race sequence.

Not necessarily.
Maybe they used a hood that didn't have real hood scoops.

Check out the MKV GTi and the dash. Yuck I still wonder how they can miss something like that.

I saw a sticker in Autovister telling owners not to open the doors in a Koenigsegg CCX too near to a kerb or you will break them i was like WOW!!!!

Some sort of comparison so we know what you find so yuck about it would help?

Just the detail on the Top Gear test track blows me away, and the spot on replay angles. Awesome, thats a game right there just on it own!! the Top Geat test track and a few supercars....love it.

Wrinkled posters & textured concrete! Love it!

(EDIT: These aren't 'flat' either, as you move past them the light reflects differently off of the surface)

The posters look very realistic. These are flat though, I am sure they use bump mapping to simulate that not flat look.
