Right big fan gt5 massive fan joined this site to get help i like others don't expect to get moaned at for bad spell and grammar it's wrong and if some ones asking for help but are very dislexic like me why have a go at them give them points and stuff it's bang out off order don't you think people who can't spell feel bad enough already buy it instead being ripped into
 
You have touched a nerve with this one believe me I have been there.
 
While you may be dislexic I can see the reasoning for the rules, just check out gamefaqs boards, it is a huge mess. Life isn't fair I guess. Sorry man, take your time and read more! I read 100x more than I post.

The reason for the spelling and grammar rules are not wrong. They are in place because this site has members from all over the world. Many of whom do not speak English as a first language. It is in order to make it easier for everyone to understand what people post that these rules exist.

Your logic is flawed. Actually you are not even using logic. If you were you would realize that based on the very argument you put forth that the rules should not be as stringent.

It's simple...
You are being welcomed into a social group. The social group has standards set. You need to follow those standards or find a new social group.
This all falls back to the sense of entitlement issue people have developed recently. You are in no way entitled to be a contributor to a private web forum, it is a privilege given to you by the site owners.

Having a disability doesn't mean your posts can have different rules. It may mean you require dedicated writing tools/software or a personal carer/assistant in order to make your points in written form that follow the rules. I get by with the built in spell-check with Firefox.
Being ripped into is not fair though, are you sure that happened?
 
So your discriminating against people with dyslexia funny that because i have always been led to believe people like myself with dyslexia are ingureged to use games like this as mental stimulus as apose to spelling and grammar

No they're not. Most the English second-language speakers on these forums type English to a greater level than first language speakers and that's from 7 years experience on these forums.

We don't have any problem with struggling second-language English speakers asking what certain words mean, or making a credible effort to type coherently.

But, they are the ones that struggle when txt speak and incorrect grammar is used by first-language speakers. And other users should not be required to translate an entire post for a user.

And finally, it's Jordan's forum, he can do entirely as he chooses!

[EDIT] And the dyslexia point is null and void. Capital "I" has never been a difficulty for my dyslexic friends (of varying severity) and spell checkers are available for most browsers. Use these forums as an opportunity to improve yourself, not to complain if you truly are Dyslexic.
 
I totally agree i am dyslexic and they keep having a go at me two out of order is it really the end of the world if you spell something wrong. Moderator clue is in the name keep writing on my profile make me feel stupid come down on the scammers there's lots of those and leave me alone and others who are dyslexic it is wrong
 
I see so many people complaining about being dyslexic when in fact they are actually just thick. It REALLY annoys me. Being dyslexic doesn't not affect your grammar in any way. People should grow up a bit me thinks, if being told your spelling is crap offends you, you really need a bit more self confidence. Use a full stop and a comma or two, and then use a spell chcker, job done. Stop using dyslexia as an excuse for laziness.

Rules are there for a reason, if you don't like them, leave :)

Yes, you know they have these computer programs now where you just talk at the computer and it writes it down. Very helpful I'm sure.

Although I do feel a bit sorry for some poor chap I saw lose it completely here yesterday. He was complaining about the same thing and by the looks of what he wrote he was having a complete nervous breakdown.

If you have problems with dyslexia, use Word, or another text programm with spell check. Copy your posts into the programm and try to correct the mistakes. By the way, I doubt the mod. who warned you knew about your disability.
 
Ironically it is hard for the dyslexic community to make a solid argument as I am having trouble making out their posts. Kind of a vicious cycle

Most people who claim dyslexia aren't dyslexic, they are just lazy and thick.

Anyway Firefox and IE both have spell checkers I believe. So you're just being lazy by ignoring them.

I put it you that you're just lazy, and not dyslexic. Your post displays none of the characteristics of someone with dyslexia. You're just using that as an excuse for the poor quality of your posts.

This whole site is one big chest-beating, 'attempting to be alpha-male' group anyway. Ever notice there is a certian 'air' about most people with 1000s of posts on here?

Too bad it's the one of the only good Gran Turismo sites out there....

I am from Sweden, so I have to check my spelling from time to time, but there is great programs out there that corrects spelling. Some forums even have it built in. Firefox browser has plugins. Or use "Word" or any other office program.

There is easy help to get out there, so your point is not valid. The staff is great!

:lol: It's kind of a naive statement until you've browsed forums on bodybuilding.com and youthink.com.
 
Dislexia has to do with letter placement in words and generally applies to hand written work. When typing you can actively view the letter before you enter it, making your argument invalid.

The grammar mistakes you're making in every post have nothing to do with dislexia. Dislexic people are fully capable of periods, commas, and capital letters. You're just using it as an excuse to be lazy and not put effort into what you type. Judging by the posts you make, I doubt you even have dislexia at all...
 
I've got a learning disability and ADHD, I find it difficult to sometimes express myself and explain a situation or subject in a manner in which everyone understands.

I do sympathise with people who also have disabilities, especially those who's disabilities affect their communication (both verbal and written) but I also understand that rules are rules.

Unfortunately, it's the way of the world, the world isn't made, run or managed in a way that is 100% fair, especially for people with disabilities, but you just have to bite your bottem lip and get on with it.

Yes, in some (not all) situations, leniancy and understanding should be shown to someone who is disabled, but this is an international internet forum and rules are rules.

People from all over the world logon to this forum for information, alot of people who use this forum do respect and obey the rules, it would be difficult to administer and make allowances for 'special circumstances'.

However, I do feel it is very harsh that someone who has a legitimate disability gets a warning for bad gammer or punctuation (when this is something that could legitimately not be their fault), but, other people who don't have a disabilty and who do not use the search facility, subsequently resulting in the numerous reposts we've had recently, do not get a warning.

If you're going to give someone a warning about bad grammer, let's see some warnings to the lazy, bone idle people who cannot be bothered to use the search function or even look at the most popular, recent or sticky threads, resulting in this forum getting clogged with reposts.

who is banned and why. Ban them if there dodgy you should let us know so they don't scam us and how does someone know by a post if there dyslexic or not must be a genius. using spell check now because i struggle have a go at me some more why don't you

I see Daan beat me to it. Regardless stop flaming people who call you out on your lie. You got caught, just let it go and move on. This is offensive as all heck to me.
