This is to inform you that VetteEMT has challenged you to a duel on the proving grounds of Marshalltown to decide who is the more worthy (i.e. manly) driver. He expresses his desire to toy with your inept machinery and emerge victorious. He also wishes to point out that he will bring plenty of uncle ben's to fuel your "sportscar" :rotfl:
Please respond in this thread if you accept his challenge (wu$$) 😈
He expresses his condolences on your imminent demise and inquires as to the identity of the wearer of the pants in your family:p
Out of the kindness of his heart, and his desire to ensure a fair fight, he will leave his real car at home, and bring the family grocery-getter in the knowledge that it is more than sufficient to handle your plastic rice-burning go-kart.
Good luck, and may the best man (him) win
:rolleyes::Poke:

Ouch...now that hurts...

I humbly (at this point) accept your challenge, pending other outside influences.

However, I prepare for defeat, because my BONE STOCK car will not stand a chance against a highly-tuned suspension, regardless of the car it sits under.

The stock tires on the WRX are hideous, but snow is coming, so they stay for now.

highly-tuned suspension??? That would be true if I was bringing the Vette, but I'm bring the Crown Vic PI. It has the same power as you but wieghs 4200 lbs. so you should be able to run me, but I plan on driven like a nut like I usally do. See ya on the track slow poke:burnout:

Oh, I thought gt2kid said that you had done some suspension work on it.

Still, I suck... :)

Well, then I'll try. I'm not going to talk smack though, because I fully expect to get my ass kicked. ;)

Heheheh...Yeah, but you can haul more cargo than either of us...

SOMEBODY has to bring the beer and pizza.

'sides, I know you racer types don't wanna carry any ballast around the course, so I guess I gotta bring the women too. :D

Well, there you go!

BTW, either of you guys have an extra helmet you could bring down with you?

(I think the wife's coming too...:))

Alt there will be helmets up there we can us;, neither of us have one. Also, The Cop car has enough trunk capacity to haul a full keg of beer, A week's supply of groceries, Jervy's saturn, and there's room in the passenger compartment for the entire Swedish bikini team. No worries.
Alt, good news (I think) According to my numbers, You've got roughly a second on Vette. He can overcome that with driving, but at least you have the advantage.

Oh gee...thanks for boosting my confidence...

"Gee Alt, just drive perfect and you might have a chance!" :p

Marshalltown, Iowa on Sunday, October 21st. It's an SCCA event that takes place on a large go-kart track.

Man...this is gonna be such a blast! I LOVE race day!:burnout:

Yeah, cold air would too. It makes a noticable difference in the pull of the car. I'll have to remember to bring an ice-cold towel for the intercooler too... :fdevil:

Well, well, well...

I guess it's my turn to talk smack!

Clown Vic - 80.1 seconds

WRX - 76.8 seconds

w00t!

All kidding aside, excellent drive Vette. I can't imaging lugging that 4300 lb. car around that track...

I'll have some photos soon.

Just as well; a Ford would look so out of place in a winner's circle :D

Of course, Alt, you DO realize that next time, Vette will prob'ly bring his REAL car

Well, I never said I could come close to challenging his other car...

More than that, the Suby had more time in it. Vette drove it like he stole it, and I imagine he could've had a 79 second pass. Alt made his 76 second pass relatively effortlessly. Excellent drive for the both of you!
Next event is at Des Moines Area Community College. Perhaps I should bring the "Hog" out, although DMACC is notoriously unfriendly to big power cars.....
(btw, this is gt2kid)

Hmmm...I might have to try hitting these things as much as possible...got a when and where on this one?

Thanks Alt.
