Please please PLEASE give us a breakdown on how the entire Penalty system for Online Races work!

It's frustrating that sometimes other racers BUMP INTO ME and I get PENALIZED.
This is just one of the many gripes.
Another is, why is it that sometimes racers on the same lap as me turn transparent for no apparent reason?

Anyone else annoyed by the online race penalty system?

They turn transparent when they're technically not racing (i.e stopped on the track or going extremely slow, facing or driving the wrong way or weaving all over the track) it was the same in prologue and it's to stop idiots from ruining the race by doing things like parking in the middle of the track.

Well, the penalty system definitely helps, but its extremely inconsistent. There are times where if you cut the grass with 1 tire, you get a 10 sec penalty (I once got a 20 sec penalty because I barely cut a corner (I was going too fast and misjudged the corner, not intentional) while other times I see a guy basically cut a corner clean (like the chicane right at the end at Suzuka, and not get anything. There are times when you get rear ended square, you get sent onto the grass, and as you make your way back, you get a short cut penalty (some times they don;t even get a ramming penalty).

There are times when some on spins you out, and then while your there side ways, they try to drive right through you and you get the ramming penalty (Because the game didn't make you invisible for a mistake they made).

It's seriously inconsistent and I take it PD didn't spend a lot of time on the penalty system, to be honest I haven't used it much as anyone caught deliberately cheating gets immediately booted as it's always my own or my mate's lounge I race in and penalties are always off.

GT Planet is a fan website. Our involvement with Polyphony Digital begins and ends there. While it is known that members of the development team have visited the forums, no-one has ever come forward and made themselves known. We do not know when they visit, or what they look at when they do. We certainly cannot guarantee that they will look at your thread if you try to get their attention, much less that they will act upon your suggestsions or requests. We are not your direct line to Tokyo.
