Have any of you guys had any luck in the Auction House? I am seriously rubbish as a wheeler-dealer. Last night I bought a Ferrari F430 from the showroom at 104,000 and sold it in a 2hr auction (beginning at 5k) for 96,000cr. Is this because my auction time was too short? I also did a Subaru WRC design for someone on another forum (2 hours work) which they promised to pay 1,000,000cr for and they didn't buy it. Hmph! Am I too naive?!

Anyone had any success stories on the AH. Care to share your tips?! =)

Yeah, if the car has a special enough livery ( Retro on a Mustang, Charger, WRC on an Impreza, etc.) It'll rake in the money.

Effort = Cash Moneyz.

Cars you need to be a high level to buy go for pretty good money.

I've sold at least 8 GT40's for 350k when they cost 236k at the dealer.

Enzo's, Carrera GT's, CLK-GTR's, and so on all go for way more than MSRP.

And never. Ever. Even attempt selling cars that you win from races. And if anyone offers to gift them to you, don't take them. They are WORTHLESS.

I just figured out a way to make some pretty quick cash (although it's a little bit of work)

People don't usually take into account the value of parts, and price their cars at their standard value for the most part, and so you can run around buying out cars for 10k that are stupidly modified, sell off all the parts, and re-list the car for sale.

The only problem with this method is that the only cars I've found that I make a lot of money off of parting out, are cars you win. Which means the return on the car itself won't be very good, if any at all.

But I bought a Camaro Z28 for 15k buyout that had an engine swap that I sold back for 21,000. That was the car itself + 6 thousand right there. $6,000 profit off the bat ain't bad.

I'm assuming that people bidding affects the time because I've gotten into a bidding war with 2 min. and 1 min. remaining and it goes back and forth till it feels like ending. Real annoying and I hope they figure out a clear way to end it because the bid wars get really out of hand. :rolleyes:

Yeah, I did the bidding thing a couple times, but most of the time it's better to spent some time looking for good deals on buyouts. The problem is you can't specify a max bid, so basically the time has to be extended until someone quits. It really sucks for cars that start out at $5000.

It's meant to be like that. Auctions in real life don't end until people stop bidding. The game is the same way, if you bid at the last minute the timer goes back to two minutes.

^ Although that could be an advantage, I would have preferred it the eBay is, just so I can get the car a bit quicker. eBay has a set time limit, even if you bid in the last 10 seconds or so. But having it the way it is can earn you more money, I suppose. :p
