Hi guys!
I'm gathering some feedback and opinions regarding a potential buy I'm going to make. The car in questions is a Audi A6 Avant 2.5 TDI V6 (FWD) 180bhp. She's from September 2003 and has 100,000kms on her. She's equipped with a automatic Tiptronic gearbox. And that is the question.
On one hand I've read some very bad thing about the reputation of this gearbox regarding broken ones, how stupidly expensive is to repair it and so on. I've also heard some criticism about the reliability of the V6 TDI engine and it's (also) expensive maintenance. On the other hand i've noticed that the majority of the reports about it are from ALLROAD A6's with that engine and gearbox attached to the Quattro system on that specific car.
As for the FWD version, which is the car in question, I haven't get any notices about problems but, in all honesty, they rather seem to be rare here in Portugal - you'll easily find the A6 Avant FWD 1.9 TDI, the ALLROAD or the QUATTRO rather than this one.
So, what can you guys say to me about it, either from personal experience or from something you've heard about from someone you know?
