None.
So, I bought the R8 and while I was driving I noticed that the name "Infineon" on the sides of the car was present in GT4 but in GT5 it was replaced with black squares, just like "Silk Cut" was replaced with white squares on the Jag XJR-9. Why? Is this because of the licensing?:grumpy:

I just looked at it in my garage and my first impression was that it simply said Infineon, but when looking closer I noticed you're right, all letters are separate black rectangles.

I don't know if it had the actual word Infineon in GT4 but licensing seems like that might be the reason.

Could be because Infineon is now Sonoma.
Yes, but not before GT5 came out.

Maybe they altered it remotely, like when they do maintenance, they adjusted my sounds remotely, ever had a Ford GT40 in your passenger seat?

It's been blocked out since the beginning of the game I think, PD lost the licensing and decided to cover up.

The Raceway name does not effect the name being on the car. Infineon is a German semiconductor manufacturer. They were the biggest corporate sponsor at Sonoma until 3 months ago. And being German, they just so happened to sponsor a German race car.

PD probably just didn't get licensing rights for GT5.

Been like that since the start. Same for the Lancia Stratos rally car, Renault 5 Turbo rally car and the Mercedes CLK-DTM. Possibly more, but those are just off the top of my head.

Infineon was there in GT4, PD lost the license to T10 didn't they for Infineon / Sears Point?

Weird , I'm absolutly sure that I had seen it before the new update .. I even took a picture.
I saw and yeah , 🤬 black squares and rectangles

What is curious about this is what is happening in Project CARS. At the moment most things are unlicensed, so the cars themselves have a different name, they tyres do and there are no brand names allowed on the cars unless it's licensed.

However, once a license for a particular car is acquired, that whole car can be covered in names that they don't have a wide license for.

For example when they got a license for Pagani they could show the car with the Pirelli logos on and give it Pirelli tyres, all without a direct license from Pirelli. It came with it, basically.

Then recently they got the license for the old Team Lotus F1 cars. Up to then the cars had been slightly different models and had 'Grip Yeah' tyres. Then they got the license for the car and hey presto, they can now have Goodyear tyres, despite SMS not having a direct license with Goodyear.

So my point being, even without PD holding the direct license to the track if they have the car itself full licensed then surely they, like SMS, should be able to display the livery in full (minus tobacco/alcohol)?

The X2011 has Pirelli logos, and that's not a real car. And they got a license for the old Team Lotus F1 cars? What are you talking about?

Project CARS, as I said at the start of my post. I was simply comparing the license issue PD seemingly had with this car.
