These two sections of the 'Ring will now be named the Schumacher S, in honour of seven times world champ Schumacher. He's also expected to have an outing in the Ferrari F1 car before the German GP kicks off

Anyone else see the irony in naming a track feature designed to slow cars down after a man who dedicated his life to going faster?

I think it's a nice gesture. He's won more F1 events there than any other driver ever has (5 total, 4 with Ferrari, 1 with Benetton).

I'd often wondered if Senna and Schumacher would ever battle sometime in the future to see who'd have more S turns named for them.

Well i guess there arnt too many straights with names. And F1 is not about going fast, its about being quick around the track. Plus, you can pull a lot of G's in corners

I'm sorry...when you said that, this came to mind....

But, yes, I get your point. F1's about the corners.
