Hi all,

I upgraded my PS4 to Pro and have noticed something that I didn't before. When racing in a pack or in a time trial I've noticed that there is a crackle when hitting cones.
I've tried a different sound system, HDMI cable, plugged headphones into the TV and controller and all experience the same issue. I do not hear the crackle when using the TV speakers but the sound is so poor I can't 100% rule that out. I'd rather put up with the noise than use the TV speakers! I don't imagine a reinstall will help.
Has anyone else noticed this? If you want to try, the track I've been using to test is Willow Springs - Streets of Willow Springs on Time Trial. There are tons of cones there.

Would really appreciate some advise. I have the following equipment -

PS4 Pro 1TB
Sony BRAVIA KDL-32W653A
Sony HT-CT60 sound bar and sub

I don't know... maybe a bug.

Sometimes when i'm racing close to others the whine of the gearbox suddently is gone... and back.. and gone.... i think also a bug....

Haha amazing! I think I saw that option ages ago. Is it a driving aid?
Yes, you'll find it in the options menu either before or during a race. I turned off cones once I learned the tracks and use the driving markers now. Don't really need them but it's nice if I get into say a night race without realizing it. Plus they don't send you off into the sky when they get wedged under your front bumper! :dopey:

Thanks for all of your comments. Makes me feel better knowing that I'm not going mad.
I'm surprised that I've been unable to find more references to this on the net other than my thread here and Reddit. I guess either I've not looked hard enough or am just too picky.
I hope that this is addressed in a future patch as it does ruin the immersion for me.

The bigger picture is why do you need the cones on though? There are tons of braking points you can use without needing to have cones all over the place.

Also, when someone knocks them what do you do then?

I don't need cones on. I forgot that I had an option to turn them off but having done that I see that it doesn't turn every cone off in the game, just the markers.
Since I see that other people have noticed the crackle, even when hitting the curbs, then I won't worry and hope it will be fixed in the future.
