Australian Pre-Order Inquiry

Hi GT Members,

Just had a question as to whom i should get a pre-order with.

JB Hi-Fi and EB seem to be the best options for in-store pickup. EB are doing Regular Edition (RE) and Anniversary Edition (AE) and JB is doing RE with Helmet Key Ring. Now i want the AE, however the price for that at EB is $114.95 which IMO is a bit steep.

Question is that in my past experiences with JB they generally only sell the premium edition of a game if there is an option. For example F1 2013 at JB, was only sold as the Legendary Edition, which sold at the normal game price of $79 and there was no option to buy the RE.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Grant, I have pre-ordered the Standard version at JB Hifi for $79 and pick it up on Friday. EB have the AE for $114.95 which has the extra cars but their standard version is $99 but the price match.

It really depends if you want to pay that extra money for some extra cars etc.

Yes Friday will be too late.

You could try a pre-order tomorrow or online

No problems, but if you are after the standard version you would be able to get one on the day at JB.
 
Surely they will still sell the AE with all the cars etc after Friday.
@Grammer just buy the AE with all they gear. We are pretty lucky that we get everything on offer. $115 isn't bad
 
I preordered the 15th AE for pick up friday at EB. 15 clams but, I just want the game full stop I get 5 extra cars for preordering.
 
Hold on i may have read this wrong but it comes with 20 cars for the AE. But then you get another 5 for pre-order?

So a total of 25?
 
Tomorrow I'm going hunting for GT6. My local (I'm in country Victoria) Target and Big W stores always break embargo one day early. I did have the Anniversary edition of GT6 pre-ordered from EB Games, but they never sell copies early even if people show them proof that other stores have already broken embargo. Plus Big W and Target are much cheaper and I think having the bonus 1 million credits and limited edition in-game cars will actually spoil my experience of starting GT6 from scratch. It pre-ordered but then cancelled GT5, Forza 4, Horizon, Bioshock Infinite and COD MW3 with EB Games but everytime they refused to sell me the games one day early even though I offered proof and their workers actually even went to the offending store (Target/Big W) to verify but still wouldn't do it, so I cancel the pre-order, get my money back and buy it from the store that will sell it to me. I love EB Games and keep giving them a chance but I understand they don't want to risk getting in trouble with Sony and other distribuitors.
 
I'm working all day Friday and Saturday so if there is a warehouse embargo breakout, I would be so happy.
 
I'm actually really disappointed that there isn't a mid-night launch, I guess I thought GT6 was bigger than it actually is... Monday at 9:01am, will have my AE version.
 
I just picked up my pre order from EB. I redeemed my codes and now doing the 1207MB patch. I was prompted for v1.01 when I inserted the disc before I could save the game to my 120G PS3. I have the fastest speed for Telstra wireless and it took 10 minutes to updat AND install the patch.

I accepted terms & conditions.

Set my screen size

Ok'd my 15th Ann cars, racing suit and helmet, paints, 1mil cr.

Watched the intro(it's jitter/skippy but, oh so crisp!)

Set my name and it goes straight into Brands Hatch.

We can not sell AE cars.

How did you get them? are they just included or do you get a separate redeem voucher?
I redeemed my code and it was stuck on loading screen for atleast 20 mins so I switched ps3 off and now installing patch. Not sure what will happen. Just my luck!
 
Got the call from JB today that my order has arrived. Now I just have to wait until I finish work and go pick it up at 6pm.

You have to install the precision pack from the PS store after you redeem them. Then, they show up in the game to confirm.

You also have to update the images of the cars in your garage. The precision pack cars pictures dont show. So, select the car, scroll to Update Car Image (s) and done.

I spent my 1million on the cars I wanted and have 347K left. I'll be on Mount Panorama for a good minute. :)

I also bought a Mazda Demio after I bought the Fit. I then bought wheels and full suspension. I'll use that to move up the ladder.
 
Yeah watch out for the precision pack, my EB didn't include them with the game, so I rang them, and they had to MMS me the code, which was fine, but if you think all 25 will come in one code - it won't, (which is a bit weird, because the only way to get the AE edition is to pre-order right?) you need one code for the first 20, and one code for the other 5 ;)

I didn't get the extra code so I rang them but the guy didn't know where the codes were so I've got to ring tomorrow when the manager is in. Should be ok
