I borrowed it from a friend today. The same one who beat it under 10 hours and now wishes he never paid $50 for it.
Well, I popped it in. I wasn't expecting something great like GT. I expected something like a Ridge Racer style game, which is extremely fun. But, not AM... I find it very wrong that you can pick, not buy, a 280 HP Skyline R34 as your first car. I chose the Skyline, picked out all of the fiber glass I wanted, painted it, and added a HKS twin turbo, without spending a dime.

Next, I started the first race. The first thing I noticed was the weak graphics. Jaggies everywhere, poor textures, and a slow frame rate (about 25 FPS, I suppose). Next, the Skyline, for some dumb reason, was redlining at 10,000 RPMs. What?! I don't think so. The final straw was that I blew past ALL six cars on the first lap. Huh? What happened to the racing part? Don't get me started about the physics. They're just bad in AM. Forget about using the breaks, or drifting, and everything else you learned in GT. Just steer the car in the right direction, and you'll do fine.
I can't check out the online multiplayer (no network adapter). But, I expect it to be even worse than the single player, with all of the wanna be racers with mentalities of a 12 year old bumping into the walls on every curve.
I think AM is a poor excuse of a video game, trying to cash in with cel shaded graphics and import cars. Just don't waste your time with it. Now, I know why my friend wanted to get rid of it so quickly...
