When's the optimal time to tell dear Bob to enter the pit?
I want him to drive by himself without me telling him to increase or decrease pace and he's starting to manage but now I've come to the Extreme B-class series and tire changes start to become necessary.
Any ideas when I should call him in ? 20%? 30%?

You won't need to most of the time. The tires you are forced to run with should last with just any car you field within that respective series.

But if you need to pit, then something else is the issue because in a short race of 10 laps or so, its incredibly hard to regain first place, especially with the "talents" of Bob. Either lower your car's power, or use another car.

This! Although i'm not sure if it is true in FGT races.
Auto pit strategy value will make your bob pit whenever one of this conditions has been met:

xx% of phisical strenght
xx% of mental streght (impossible to achieve)
xx% of tires (i think its impossible to achieve too)
xx% of gasoline

In every pit the tires are replaced. Replacing bob or refueling is optional (If you dont need refuel do it anyway with not many litters as you spent time changing tires)

For endurance races I advise you to choose 10% and in some cases do it manually (leting or bobs "die" is sometimes a good strategy).

Hm.. Races with ten laps i understand but currently i'm letting him race a 30 lap one and god knows why he chooses to pit 4-5 times in a row now.. what's going on...
Besides this bug or whatever it is i believe he has to pit somewhere in between those 30 laps because he wears his tires down automatically after a while.
I can try to let him to the entire race without a pit, not sure how that will turn out though.

Ps, any of you experienced bob pitting every lap? why, oh why?

Bob may pit when the time as changed too. One time was raining just a little in suzuka and a chose intermediate tires at the begginig. Then i turn on auto pit and bob stoped next lap to change to race hard.
If you are in a longer track with autopit in a high value and have low bobs it could happen to stop every track. I should also know that when a bob is replaced it remanis to rest. Then when you put it back on track again is strenght, in most cases, will not be maxed out. Imagin that all your bobs are running out of strenght. If you have auto pit on, no matter the value they will pit every lap.

30 laps dont justify a pit (but depends on the track off course). Tell me wich race are you doing.
In one pit races it is advisable to stop in the mid lap if your bobs have the same phisical strength. Otherwise you will have to adjust it.

Are you doing the Formula GT Championship? If so, then your Bob's should be only doing one stop pit near the end, preferably after the AI pits. The FGTs can make the tires last long.

And he is pitting 4-5 times in a row because you're pit strategy is set to a certain strength level. It must be set to a high level if your drivers are coming in that often. If you set that auto strategy to off, Bob will only pit for tires and fuel. And since there is only one driver per car in FGT, your Bob is coming in so many times due to his strength level reaching the pit strategy level, but since there no other drivers allowed, he sets out again...only to pit again moments later.

Nope not formula grand pirx, some japanese racing car series, extreme series I think.
Didn't think he would pit due to the strenght level ^^ that might be it.
I'll take your advice then and turn off the auto pit unless it's endurance or so then.
Thanks for the help ;) I'll be back if I'm still struggling ^^

Wrong: You should pit in the middle, because of the tires. You will have new tires twice, one for each half of the race. What is the point to stop at the end??

I stand corrected. But my Bobs do manage to maintain their tires for a long time, so I just let them decide. Apparently they like pitting with 5 laps left, and so far no losses. But it does get hairy sometimes.

I put my 4 Bobs into the 1000KM (Suzaka?). 172 laps. I went down to check after about 3 hours and found that they were pitting every lap!

This was because I had auto pit set to 10%. The replacement Bob was getting into the car and had no time to recover, so had less than 10% strength!

I had to get around it by switching auto pit off, and running Bob with zero strength.

He still won!! Mind you he was in an X2010!!

I've noticed this "auto pit" bug on various races, even when Pit strategy strength is set to "off". It cost me the b spec FGT championship at a wet Monza by 15 points :/

Bob was only @ 14/34 when he started pitting on a wet track, and was defaulting to racing hard tyres, irrespective of my pit strategy.
