Well today i finally got my first AUTOart model..........
80392.jpg

I've never seen one upclose, so boy was i surprised with all those small features..cloth seats, seatbelts, non-moving calipers, high detailed rotors, etc etc....

anyway does anyone else collect or own some??.....

PS. I got it at Kevin's Hobbies in Coquitlam BC Canada,

They're incredibly expensive where I live (and on eBay). For the good ones they're easily $100CAD, sometimes you can get older ones for a little cheaper because they're leftovers...But if you've got the money, there is no better die-cast company out there. Of course, they don't own the rights to produce Ferrari replicas, so I won't even give them a second look.

I got it for $73(with tax) canadian for it from KEVINS HOBBIES....at the nearest mall (Metrotown) they sell them for $110 + tax

The wing is more than a little over the top. And the front bumper isn't entirely accurate.

Other than that, it looks very nice and impressively detailed.

The bumper is accurate, it's the 2003 WRC car without stickers on. I've got the liveried version, it's identical except for the stickers (and, well, it's blue, but they make a stickerless blue as well). Which makes it much nicer. :p

i just ordered my rally monte carlo version of this car. I love auto art models. I have around 10. They are even looking better the last couple years compared to the older ones. The newer ones have detailed brake rotors that are awesome...maybe photo etched? and if i remember correctly, none of my newer ones have water slide decals on them.
my advice on auto art models, in the words of Ferris Bueller "...if you have the means, i highly suggest picking one up."

Heres my Autoart baby::

and special mention to Pauls Model Art who did my Benetton:

sting, is that bently dusty? looks a little furry in the pic.

those bently are nice aren't they? i wish they didn't have that sealed body. I like my cars to fall apart if somebody picks them up and looks at the bottom. :nervous:

that minichamps...is the minichamps logo on the sidepod original? I am not an expert on the older F1 stuff, but i don't recall ever seeing that car before.
what car is that?

yeah its dusty, so thanks for reminding me to clean them. :sly:

and no, i don't think the Minichamps logo was actually on the full size car. The underside of the F1 car states it as:: Benetton B194 (1994), Driver: Jos Verstappen
he did drive for the team but i think the minichamps logo is a bit of creative license if you get my meaning. still a top quality model though

VipFREAK those models look sweet dude. Just hope I can find some of the racing versions before they become impossible to find.

Thanks, sadly yeah I suppose... but there's always Ebay for awhile too. :)

Ah man. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on that Miura, if it's not sold out.
The guys in Victoria want somewhere above $75 for it, so this is a deal.

I ordered a BMW M1 Procar a few weeks back and have recently just recieved it. But I haven't bought any sense then.

sting-i wonder if minichamps just sponsored that car for a sigle race or something. It just seems unusual for them to do that since they are normally very particular about details. Daan, do you know if it was a one race wonder?

vip, nice vipers you got there. My friend picked up the white w/ stripes version you have there recently. Have you ever seen the playstation2 blue version GTSR? Its a nice color scheme on it.

Yep that's a nice one too! I just gets rather expensive for a color change Viper. :indiff: I'd still want one then. That would be sick if they made a Chaimberlin one too! :D:tup:

Benetton had Minichamps as the sponsor during the German GP at Hockenheim in '94. They had different sidepod sponsors through the races, depending on the region.

You mean that one?

I've got 4 of them Vipers... they all have slight details, they're not 100% similar one to another.

I have a Toyota GT-One and James Bond Aston Martin DB5 by AutoArt. DB5 is not that great(they focused heavily on the 007 gadgets, not on the car's details), but GT-One is simply amazing. I've never owned an model car with so much detail. :)

punkrock- i am not a big viper fan. I have 1 of the auto art viper race cars, but I would add that black/yellow one to my lineup anyday. That is a nice looking car. I thinkn i like it better than that playstation one I was talking about.

as for that playstation blue version. its not a color change car. It was raced at lemans i think. Its a medium blue color with tiny white lines going horizontally from front to back all over the car. This is prolly going to give you the wrong idea....but if you pictured the car the same colors as a pepsi can. looks like a pepsi can with playstation 2 sponsorship.

-hmm, i am thinking the description i just gave is going to throw you way off.

I love the AutoArt cars! I've been buying them as presents for my father, but I'm looking into starting to collect them myself. So far, I've bought the Corvette Sting Ray concept car, the Jaguar XKSS racer and the Chaparral 2. Amazing!

Currently, I have my eye on a '69 Corvette...

I got my 1st autoart today, "Toyota MR2 spyder".

I think they are somewhat overrated/priced (i only paid £10 wich is obviously cheap) for what they are. I mean my hotweels Ferrari 575M has just as much detail, with the movie discs & the non-moving callipers. And aside from the breaks there is nothing better on it than my Maisto cars (Murcielago, VX220).

Obviously the best Q you are probably going to get, but not much better than other cheaper brands id say.

this is only what i think but paying the price they set for the racing models i agree with but I wouldn't pay the high price for a normal car like the MR2 that I could try and find cheaper by another manufacturer. My main AutoArt fix is the racing cars that they make and I love my Bentley, normal road cars i seem to have more from Bburago and Maisto.

even so, got a picture of your AutoArt MR2? Would love to see it.

Soz, no pic, no cam at the mo. It does look good, but i was really annoyed when i opened it, &, ya no them lil stickers they have to keep the bonnet & stuff down. When i pealed them off, they left a horrible sticky residue on the car, that is frigin hard to get off.

ok my friend knw someone who lives somewere in canada (don't know so don't ask) so he gets these auto art cars and my friend is getting some and i amd to and we both paid $40 a car. don't ask how i got them so cheap but i htink the guys dad makes aut art cars don't know ad probally never will.
