So after this video turned up from Fanatec showing off a new Porsche GT CSW rim:
I was unclear what the game on the screen was with most assuming pCars, however VirtualR uncovered the truth, or some of it at least.
So, a new online sim in the works, Porsche licensed with real race tracks. Sounding good so far and will certainly be keeping an eye out for more. The website has little more than a nice pic and a box to enter your email.

EDIT: Having entered my email, it sent me an email saying this:
So a closed Beta is not far away at all.

A few days ago, I posted a first story on the rather mysterious video recorded by Fanatec, showing their racing hardware in action with an unknown Porsche racing title at Hockenheim.
As confirmed by Fanatec’s Thomas Jackermeier, the software used is a brand new sim title that has not yet been announced. While that just added to the confusion pretty much, more bits and pieces are starting to become available now.
Below is a little video showing more of the title, letting us check out a pretty GUI and a big Porsche-themed promo poster titled “Porsche Motorsport Online”. The url on the GUI takes us to Automaniax, a website that offers little more than the possibility to leave an email-adress and a pretty Porsche background right now, along with the intriguing promise “Real Cars. Real Tracks.Real Motorsports.”.
After a bit of research, I stumbled across the following posted in the Rage3D forums:
It’s a full simulation game in development with Porsche currently and they plan on picking up other makes and licenses, it’s supposed to be a continually expanding online racing community (according to one of the devs)
I was at the new Porsche boxster launch this week and they had 4 sim units set up. Was very nice and felt very good, very realistic, amazing sounds and great models. The only car available was the gt3 cup and it was on hockenheim but I was very impressed. The race had 24 cars on track at once and the graphics were quite good.
Unfortunately, this is where the trail of info ends right now but that should be more than enough to get excited about the upcoming Automaniax title…..
