Automatic vs. Manual

I have a few cars where the power band allows the car to rev right before redline and not lose power.

In those few instances, I just use an automatic transmission.

My question, is there any difference in shifting speed/ performance when using auto vs. manual?

I ask because I kinda feel like the same car seems to shift better/faster when I use manual. Same car, same mods, same shifting point, just using manual instead of auto.

No, it shouldn't as the auto shifting isn't really a auto transmission, instead the game is shifting for you (pressing the shift button). The only difference is that the game always shifts at the exact same spot, no matter what the situation is (e.g. just before a hill where you could use the power of the lower gear it still shifts up, where you with manual would wait)...
