THEME: In their words: "New Year, Fresh Start.

No specific requirements, however I would encourage everyone to try something they haven't tried before. A new location, a new technique, even an newly acquired, unphotographed model."

  • Editing: Levels, Curves, Colour Balance, Brightness/Contrast, Hue/Saturation, Shadows/Highlight adjustments, Cropping, or anything else capable in the development process or with filters and common special lenses (such as gradients) are allowed to be used in Photoshop or other image editing softwares. Other adjustments and effects (such as paintbrush tools) are not allowed to be used in your picture . You may also use Unsharp Mask.

  • Photographs should ideally include some composition and effect - Base the photo on a studio shoot, or even use diorama/composition to create a realistic setting (you could position the model and camera in such a way in an outside setting so that it appears to be a 'real' car)

  • No HDR shots.

  • Shots must be taken between January 2015 and the present day.

  • Work that has been shown previously (outside of the competition) is allowed.

  • One entry per competition. You may change your entry as many times as you wish, however the entry you wish to submit should clearly be labelled with "Final Entry".

  • Pictures posted should preferably be around 900px on their longest edge. You may link to a larger photograph in the post (I believe this is the size limit allowed by the Photography forum, however it likely hasn't been updated in some time)

  • All scales of model are allowed unless specified.

Deadline for each bi-weekly competition will be 10:30pm EST on a Monday (or a Tuesday, in this case), poll will be up by 11:00 pm EST
Voting will be open for 5 days, and close on Saturday at 11:00 EST


This competition will close on January 22nd, 2018.​

A rarely photographed model, and this has got to be the first time I'm not playing with light in one way or another in entries for this competition. :lol:
Instead, this time I'm playing with composition.

FINAL ENTRY

I tried to recreate a 'barn find' atmosphere and add some grease to the model using my Tamiya Weathering kit, but it doesn't work. So I abandoned the thought and just photographed the model as it is. I hope I am successful in this regard, even if only partially.

Only tweaks made to the photo are a brightness-and-contrast adjustment and some cropping.

Tried to use higher contrast which is something I tend to avoid. I think it works well with this car.​
