Theme chosen by Apok

THEME: In their words: "Pre 2000

Take a photo of a car built before 2000."

36763596436_9389fbb68c_o.jpg

  • Editing: Levels, Curves, Colour Balance, Brightness/Contrast, Hue/Saturation, Shadows/Highlight adjustments, Cropping, or anything else capable in the development process or with filters and common special lenses (such as gradients) are allowed to be used in Photoshop or other image editing softwares. Other adjustments and effects (such as paintbrush tools) are not allowed to be used in your picture . You may also use Unsharp Mask.

  • Photographs should ideally include some composition and effect - Base the photo on a studio shoot, or even use diorama/composition to create a realistic setting (you could position the model and camera in such a way in an outside setting so that it appears to be a 'real' car)

  • No HDR shots.

  • Shots must be taken between January 2015 and the present day.

  • Work that has been shown previously (outside of the competition) is allowed.

  • One entry per competition. You may change your entry as many times as you wish, however the entry you wish to submit should clearly be labelled with "Final Entry".

  • Pictures posted should preferably be around 900px on their longest edge. You may link to a larger photograph in the post (I believe this is the size limit allowed by the Photography forum, however it likely hasn't been updated in some time)

  • All scales of model are allowed unless specified.

It's not a CMC nor Kyosho, yeah?
Im not up to date as far as brands go. The cars i have i collected during my childhood. They're from bburago. No idea if that is considered a good or a bad brand

@AOS- We're doing variations on a theme this week coincidentally.

Final Entry

My first time competing in the model competition.

Chose this model because it resembles a lot of emotional value to me. As it's kind of resembles my childhood for me.

Also, welcome! As a first time entering, it's certainly an impressive entry.

Damn! You've got the nicer version of the Roadster. That's the one I thought I had for a good deal at $80.

I think yours looks pretty good, especially for $80. Interesting that they're different versions of the same car. Mine is the old Exoto, and overall I think it's only okay, but that's due to it being an older model. And this version has some minor paint defects as well (which I didn't know when I first bought it), so it ended up being considerably cheaper than the original price.

At the time, I was probably having illusions thinking I read the listing as this being an Exoto, and my impulse took over thinking what a steal I found this for.

I look at the bottom and found out it's just a Yatming (Road Signature). This thing is nowhere close to being $80 in value, especially in its condition. It's a project of mine to add in the features that the Exoto has to make this look more like a $200 model.

So, also coincidentally, we both received disappointing Grand Sports. Although yours sounds even moreso. Your photo flatters it though.

That does sound like a interesting project though. I don't usually customize things, but it's something I would like to get into and work towards someday.
