So here comes the Autumn Ring Time Attack (ARTA:dopey:). You'll notice seriously fast and powerful machines are allowed and at the same time most driver aids are banned, why do it - because we can! Most people can do a quick lap on wide, fast track like Test Course and High-Speed Ring, let's see what we can do on tight and technical twists of Autumn Ring. I dare you show your driving and tuning skills gentlemen!

Rules:

Hybrids and Race Cars are BANNED!

Race Mod, Yaw Control, Active Stability Control and Traction Control Systems are BANNED!

Sport Brakes, Brake Balance Controller, Full Customization Suspension, Race Gearbox and Super Soft Slicks are REQUIRED!

Cars, originally NA and converted with turbo kits are BANNED, EXCEPT in T1 (Kei/City car) class!

All other specs are up to you.

Cars are divided into two major classes - NA and Turbo. Furthermore, NA and Turbo classes are divided into groups, based on horsepower (home garage hp figures) as follow:

NA Cars (limited to):

NA1: 200hp
NA2: 270hp
NA3: 330hp
NA4: 400hp
NA Open: No Horsepower limitation, bring your track weapon!

Turbo Cars (limited to):

T1: 200hp
T2: 300hp
T3: 400hp
T4: 550hp
Turbo Open: No Horsepower limitation, bring your track weapon!

You can enter each group with one or more cars. Fastest time for each of your cars is placed on the Leader Board (for the group it entered).

Lap Times must be proven with screenshot (or video). Horsepower also must be stated.
I believe there is no point of garage screenshot for HP approval - there is nothing easier than taking the screen and adding some more "juice" to the car before making hot lap. I count on your honesty :)

Have fun!

You are being a bit... Optimistic :) I think there are too many groups considering the barely positive number of active people here in GT2 forum.

That's the idea - there's a group for anybody to enter his favorite car - being it Hachi-roku, Silvia, Sting Ray, Fairlady or whatever ;) For example I can enter like 90% of the groups, some with 4 or 5 cars :)

EDIT: Here's a try from me in NA2: 270hp NB Miata - 1:16.757

The Hachi can be a bitch to drive, but if you tune it just right it just fly through the corners. Will be trying to beat your time, mate. In the meanwhile, a NA3 entry - 322hp FTO GP Version R - 1:14.292

NA2: ZZIII @ 267hp: 1:15.057 (although it coulda been much better with this car; I seemed to fail to set it up properly, maybe later I'll give it another go)

@orCa, nice tacho position on the shot! 👍 ;)

NA Open: 1:06.144

1) Guess the car, lol :D
2) I think the time can be a lot better, but
3) This car here feels so out of place - it felt better even when I was drifting it back then

Ah, yes: screenshots [1] [2]

All behold the Speed 12! It would handle so much better if you could RM it, unfortunately it's not allowed in the rules.

Nobody seems to be interested in Turbo Classes?
Turbo Open entry - 675hp '95 R33 GT-R - 1:10.957. It can go a lot faster, I'm a crappy inconsistent driver

Here are the top times for each category mentioned pic'd:

madmax86gt2autumnringti.jpg

NA1 1:15.218 - MadMax86 - 187hp Peugeot 106 1.6 Rallye (you may notice best lap being slightly faster, but It was a little off track so the 2nd best will do)

NA2 1:11.576 - MadMax86 - 250hp Spoon Civic

T1 1:14.245 - MadMax86 - 200hp Toyota Starlet Turbo S '87

I have some new times to the NA1 and T1 aswell , but I forgot to take the memo with me so I'll write them here another time.

I have a working tune for FF's as you can tell :D

MadMax

Your times are added mate, and may I say they are off the chart! I just have to ask you - how the hell did you managed that? I know the spoon civic is quite a potent track car, but it seems you have quite the driving and tuning skills. Could you give us a little tip on the FF recipe ;)

Thanks,

I started with the TVR chimera 4.0 but realised soon that it's guite heavy
compared to AE86 for example.
Basicly I've been searching used car lot and new car lot for low weight low power cars for NA1 and T1.

FF seems to have better grip when cornering than FR and thus gives better acceleration thru the corner.

Here are some more times I was supposed to write recently:

NA1
1:15.xxx - MadMax86 - 200hp Lotus Elan S2
1:15.941 - Madmax86 - 194hp Citroen Saxo

T1
1:14.940 - MadMax86 - 187hp Fiat 500 Sporting (max hp)
1:16.556 - MadMax86 - 180hp Mini Cooper 1.3i (max hp)
1:18.171 - MadMax86 - 197hp Mazda RX-7 GT-Turbo '83
1:18.639 - MadMax86 - 142hp Mini 1.3 (max hp)

I didn't use LSD on any of my times. (neither TCS or ASM/YAW)
Here is a setup I created for Spoon Integra Type-R:

Suspension
18.2/17.8
74/84
1/1
8/4
2.2/1.2
0.00/0.00
1/1

Brakes 7/12

Gears
first move final gear to maximum value, then set AUTO gear setup to 1
now move 1st and 2nd gear to minimum values and rest maximum values.

Gears 3-5 used

All other allowed upgrades for NA2 class (270hp max by upgrades to power)
weight reduction 1,2 and 3
super soft racin slicks
Triple clutch, racing flywheel, sports brakes

This setup is not the final setup I'll be using for my Integra run,
but something to give you a cue how my FF's work.

(if you feel that a FF car understeers under cornering while accelerating ,
try increasing the front/rear toe values. example: 0.10/-0.10 )

I agree, FR seems to understeer compared to FF, even with fine setting. Maybe it's due to torque steering or something like that...
Nice laps, MadMax. Can't manage to go faster...

I tried to build some decent race cars for "Turbo-1" and "Turbo-2" classes. But as my Punto and my MX-5 aren't ready yet, I tuned a 299hp Lancia Delta (T2),

which gave the first T2 class record: 1'15.746

Didn't use TCS/ASC or any driving aid (Didn't even know they were in GT2...), and took the LSD apart, as I haven't enough experience to manage a 4WD-LSD car...

I tried to make some cars for T1 and NA1 classes. Got my best results with a 106 Rallye (not as good as MadMax's one) and with a Fiat 500 Sporting (in this case too, MadMax's version is .7 seconds faster...:ouch:)

so, for T1:
1'15.635- Fiat 500 Sporting
and for NA1
1'16.552- Peugeot 106 Rallye

Obviously, no LSD nor driving aids, but all the allowed modifications to the gearbox and suspension.
Also tried with a Corsa 16V (1'18.636), with a Punto GT (1'18.959), with an Elan S2 (1'18.6xx) and with a Nissan Micra SuperTurbo of the 80s (1.19'376) but probably the 500 and the Peugeot are the best of their category in GT2.

LSDs are allowed, Patruck. Don't forget to write down HP for the cars btw.

I believe they are maxed out at power (187 hp) boght, just like mine.

I haven't yet tempered the LSD in any of my tunes, so with LSD tuning the times should get faster.

Don't worry Partuck GT2, I've spent hours in those laptimes I've archived and still they all have few tenths left for improvement
