Avatars; Customisation and abilities?

In Gran Turismo 5 we were given "avatars" whether a player liked it or not they all had one. I want to hear the community's view on how to improve on GT5 or whether they should be removed?

1. Customisation; clothing could maybe become more personal, not all colours are available for racing suits, helmets and gloves.
Also every avatar has white skin, surely this isn't an accurate representation of every player of Gran Turismo 5? Maybe the possibility of changing skin colour?
Every avatar is male as well, again I don't think that every player of Gran Turismo 5 is accurately represented, maybe gender selection?

2. Abilities; a few more animations maybe? Waving, poses etc. maybe even breaking into a dance if idle for a long time?

What are your thoughts on the avatar?

Being able to create your own suit with an editor.

^ And a helmet editor. I like the fact that we can customize them, but there could be more options.

Surely gender and skin colour selection should be added for GT6. Not everybody is the same. Plus it would possibly help with immersion as well.

I'd like something along the lines of F1 05. You could choose from a set of avatars, both male and female, to be yours. You could also select skin colour, hairstyle etc. There was also a celebration cutscene at the end of each race if you got the podium, of your avatar celebrating with the other drivers with champagne. However, the female drivers did have male mannerisms, which was kinda creepy. But I got over it.

Unfortunately, I can't find a video on YouTube of avatar customization. However, I did find a few with the celebration cutscene in. Skip to 10:20 to see what I mean.

I love being able to personalise elements of games, and though we can customise our avatars a bit, they aren't really unique at all, they are all essentially the same person with a different suit & helmet combination, which can be replicated by anyone.

The girls & women that play the game could have their avatar as someone that looks like them and the same goes for people of different races as well.

Agreed, this is necessary as well as a Livery Editor, to really make a car/avatar yours.

It would help with immersion for some, and it would increase the personalisation abilities.

For me it would make the online assets that I have a better representation of me, actually the same goes for anyone; they would have assests that would be a true representation of them and their unique style.
