Axis' Problem. Controller.

Hey I have bought GTA San Andreas for my PC and I cannot set up the analog sticks to play normally like it would on for example a PS2. Left stick movement. Right stick Looking. Now while it is set to that my Axis' are not. I do not know what does what. Can somebody explain or tell me how to set it up.
