I have had my Evolution IX for a long time now but I just noticed that it has a AYC strength. You can use that in stead of the LSD. There is no description so can anyone tell me what it is, if its better and on what number I should put it ?

Cheers

It defaults at 90, I've fiddled a bit with it but ended up leaving it there. I don't use the car much though.
I haven't seen much about it around here, I'd suggest doing some laps yourself and figuring out how it changes things.

Move it up and down in set increments without changing anything else, do a few laps and compare times and handling characteristics.

Basicly, if I remember correctly, you can use it to change how well your car turns on the power. From what I remember, higher setting=more steering on power.

On the Dirt, I found AYC works as expected, and depending on how much you like your car to slide, you can set it higher or lower. On Tarmac however, even at minimum setting, the car understeers every single time. Much better going for a very loose LSD setting.
Working with racing soft tyres though, dont know how lesser tyres go.

On Tarmac however, even at minimum setting, the car understeers every single time.

It will understeer most at a low setting. Raising the value increases the torque sent to the outside tire which in turn reduces understeer. I set it to 130 on every Evo except the X, where it tends to cause trouble tracking in a straight line.

Oh OK, I'll have to go back and try that. I didn't try maxing it, but the bit I did increase felt like it would understeer more. And no, I didn't read the description for it either. If I had, I would probably know this... LOL

I set mine directly proportional to the amount of torque split I have front to rear. For example, if I have the car set to a 50:50 torque distribution, I max out the AYC.
