First off new here, but somewhat of an active reader from the past. So hello and all of that good stuff.
I of course realize that B-SPEC has been somewhat of a controversial topic in the past between those that have time to drive all of the races and those who do not. Those who believe the ability to save in Pit's should do away with a need for B-SPEC and then those who still have no interest in ever driving all 24 Hours of a race. I like many of you grew up playing th GT series and love it dearly for it's realism but also the long term playability. With that said I recently decided it was time to do the 24 hour races and of course decided to use B-SPEC and off it went and completely crushed the competition with the Toyota Minolta won from El Capitan Endurance, which was won by my 350Z LM.
Now prior to this I had very little B-SPEC points and had used it on one or two prior occasions and gotten utterly disguested with Bob's driving abilities and rediculed him for ruining my driving record.
With that said though I think Bob definetly has a purpose for us working/faimly/school types. I am of the oppinion like many others that there could be B-SPEC acquireable drivers who could be managed through the garage or teams of drivers for the longer endurance racers, which would be a very nice feature but I'm sure would take considerable time to develop and test.
Currently I feel a quick fix could be having Bob's ability based on your ability as an A-SPEC driver, which could easily be established by driving the shorter races. For instance if you blast through using an Audi R8 to win the beginners hall then maybe Bob should be a lousy driver or uncapable of driving certain cars or perhaps Bob's ability could be based on your average A-Spec per race points.
I believe this would be a relatively simple system to implement into the game since the points already exist for the calculations and a simple scale would need to be implemented defining Bob's abilities. Not saying this would take ten minutes to code, but it should take considerably less time than to code in a complete system for AI recruitable drivers and their varying abilities, but maybe I'm wrong entirely.
Either way I think it would add a nice new element to the game where actually using B-SPEC could mean something more than just getting a nice car setting it on fast and letting Bob run away from the pack or maybe he gets better the more B-SPEC points he gets. I think it would be an interesting way to actually make some use out of the A/B-SPEC points.
Well that's my idea in a rather large nutshell.. Peace
