Has this happened to anyone? Preparing for my (A-spec) assault on the Formula GT championship (the Big Kahuna!), I was testing (against the field) at the Nurburgring. After about 5 laps, I put Bob in so I could check the opposition's lap times, see what they got up to, etc, etc. I decided to run him to the end.

On the last lap, he suddenly starts sulking, going slower & slower on the straights, doimg a mere 130mph on the uphill run to the Karussel, until, on the big straight, he's doin 47 miles per bloody hour!!!

I couldn't understand it, I tried different instructions, all sorts. He was fully fuelled, had new tyres, nothing out of the ordinary at all....

Was he just sick of the mickey taking, or what???

 I think your b-spec Bob went on strike.

Whoa... This is very unusual. All I can think of is that he must've gone nuts and went into some sort of safe mode. He must have decided to go into the pits, that's the only explanation I can think of. But even so, an FGT doing <50mph in the Nurburgring final sections is something I have never heard of. Maybe PD inserted a glitch to stop you slave-driving Bob !

But then again, a freind of mine (this counts severly against him) did the entire 24hr Nurburgring race in an FGT with no problems at all, so perhaps you've found a glitch in your own personal game?

Aha! Maybe he ran out of oil!

 I don't know :D!

 Safe mode, Eh? Perhaps he's from Dorset? No, too fast. They all drive at 40mph there... :)

I think it might just be a glitch with the track:
The same thing has happened to me.

I'm not alone then. Just one of those things. As you said, odd things happen at the ring (cue twilight zone music...)

Sure he didn't run out of gas? I did, just the other day...

Definitely not, he'd just come out of the pits, I'd been on a one lap strat, and I was always running topped up (I'm not convinced of the 'weight' of the fuel in this sim...). He was using 15 litres per lap... Hmmm. God knows. (Perhaps I should ask him...)

u should...lol

strange......i had just did the 10 laps on arcade with my F1 car(cus i like nurby and long races) and something REALLY strange happened. On about the 4th lap(after the pits) i started to notice that 2nd place was moving very slow. Then he went to a complete stop. then third place slowed down at the same spot and stop....and same with 4th, 5th, and 6th. then i was worried. At first i thought "No problem....just a crash". Boy was I wrong. I get there and they are all in a line and holding a speed o60 mph on straights and 15 in turns. They had done this 4 the rest of the race...strange

The "weight" of the fuel doesn't show up much in the lap times, but it makes an incremental difference in tire wear in B-Spec. Bob can usually go half-a-lap to a whole-lap more on a set of tires if you run a light fuel load versus a full load.

I've seen "cruising" behaviour only once or twice on my game (Le Sarthe comes to mind), but not THAT bad.

we are all having very different problems....for me it was almost like they had forfited or the race was finished.......i think i might try and do some "further" research on this by testing the track with different lap settings and cars of the F1 series........just so i know.....can every body tell me wat cars they used when they had the problem....if its possible...please tell me.

and that is one of the reasons why le Sarthe still remains unconquered for me. every time, my stiggy runs into wall at the straight or then he forgets to brake before that tight turn after mulsanne.. :banghead: hmmm what to do? 💡 I think I shall cancel his pocket money! :dopey:

I'm told the thing to do here is soften off the springs and dampers a bit. Apparently it's to do with the bumpy nature of the Sarthe track. There are threads around about this, so have a bit of a dig.

 Scary I´m gonna do the ring tonight :scared: The strangest thing that happend to me on the ring was when a leading Toyota 7 just turned 90 degrees on the straight an throw him self in to the wall?? handing over the lead (and the win) to me

Haha, if you guys think this is weird, you should see what a friend of mine's Drivatar in Forza always does at the 'Ring...

Somewhere on the north side of the track, he'll slam on the brakes and come to a dead stop, and then wait....and wait...and while he's waiting, his car will be twitching slightly, while slowly rotating (not turning, just rotating  ) counter-clockwise. This will go on for over a minute, until finally the car "hops" into the air and then lands again. Then, finally, the Drivatar "remembers" what he's supposed to be doing, and takes off again, to chase after the rest of the pack, which had passed him a long time ago...

ok, That's it.. boths of these games needs the feature called Exorcist, because it's obvious that these tracks/cars are possessed/haunted.. :scared:

Well my b-Bob did just fine yesterday, won the race with over a minute to spare (spun of the long straight just once). Best lap time was around 5:41.

but I need to win Le Mans.. and my bobby-boi keeps hitting the wall either during the straight or then after it..

Hello Leonidae,

I just go the game 3 days ago and my buddy b-spec start to do the same stuff on plenty of other tracks, so I just asked him to slow down (losing some races too but in 2nd position rather than 5th or 6th) and allow him to do plenty of track and learn them.
He is now completly skilled (6982pts) over 60 points in track, battle and knowledge of the car and I have no more complain about him.

And other point that I have noticed is that if you give a "easy driveable car" to your buddy (correctly set and at least with the TSC control on), he does his best and never goes out of the track 👍

Tiper,
stockbreeder of "b-spec buddy"

Ps: You definitely can't ask a "b-spec dude" to run Le Mans on his first race :dopey: that your reason

Salut les Francais!!! , et bienvenu a GTP :)

Leonidae, people say you need to soften the suspension for this problem. It's something to do with the bumpy track. There are threads about it, but don't ask me where, I'm drunk...

umm.. My B'spec boy has experience past 7300, and other skilla are equally high.. all my racecars have all driving aits because it saves the tyres more, even though they slow him down a bit.oh well.. i guess I have no choice but run these races by myself first and gain few laps leed, before letting my B-spec boy take over..
